In the 2015 Solo II rulebook posted yesterday, it says the Street Class offset allowance is now '±7.00 mm (±0.275”)". Is that new for 2015? The allowance has been "±¼” (±6.35mm)" for as long as I can remember.

I feel the room spinning....

As I recall there were two reasons stated for the change.

Industry is using metric units for design and specification of offsets.

It was becoming common for aftermarket wheels to use offsets 7mm from stock offsets.

Interestingly the stock offset for the 2015 Mustang GT performance pack 9.5 inch wheels is 52.5 mm.

I just ordered .025" shim stock to make wheel spacers for the nats crowd.

And Tire Rack is just full of 19x9.5 wheels for your car that have a 45mm offset. So what wheels will you be running?

According to Tire Rack they will have at least one vendor of SCCA "Street" class legal wheel sets for the 2015 Mustang GT performance package.

I ordered (and received) a set of Forgestar CF5s through Sam Strano. Roughly the same price as the Stock Ford wheels purchased through their accessory area but about 6 lbs lighter each and much easier design to clean.
