Forecast: "Ice Pellets"

Damn, that's a new one.

Just thinking out loud, a local bike race I'm doing is scheduled for Saturday and they always schedule a back-up date due to weather if needed. So it got me thinking about the chances they'd let us do a back-up date if needed assuming the forecast is like this on Thursday? Probably a lot easier said than done, especially considering the other clubs that reserve dates too.

I guess eventually someone had to ask...
Looks like currently -2 Fri morning in D'ville with more snow, with possibility of snow/frozen mix Sat and Sun. I'm starting to wonder about getting there, especially with most drivers driving on *street tires*. Is there currently a Plan B?

Not only street tires, but summer tires, lol. If that road going up into the site even has snow/ice on it the Camaro won't even make it up it.

We're not oblivious to the forecast. Just don't want to state anything official until its truly official. Stay tuned.

I'm cool with that, and know you're on top of it. Just bummed...jonesing to drive.
And thanks.

Event is officially moved to March 7th and 8th. Sorry for any inconvenience, but there are a LOT of reasons we had to move this event.

Thanks for moving the event. I can’t even walk out my front door. It’s pretty bad when the dog falls on his ass. Besides, I’m really ready for some major YeeHa. Not much of that in a Miata on ice.

What's the status on the bus? I presume that is likely one of the reasons. I didn't make the meeting but heard it needed a fuel pump and we were debating on replacing the fuel tank.

The bus should be ready tomorrow. It does need a fuel pump and the old tank is being repaired. Problems compounded from lots of rust on bus chassis, old tank design that is not available anymore and not being able to find a good used tank.

Good ol steel stamped tanks. You'd think in 2001 they'd have switched to plastic on those things.

That thing must have lived up north for a time or something, it is pretty rusty underneath. I didn't replace the steel tank on my old 1985 Chevy K10 until 05 or 06 I think. And only one of them was leaking, the other was fine when I sold that truck.

What happens if I could make the original dates, but can't make the make-up date? I pre-paid. I don't mean to whine, but it's already tough for me to schedule my work around auto-x. It's almost impossible when auto-x moves around.

I wont complain too much if I just made a $25 donation to the club, but I'd really prefer a credit for the next event that I CAN make. In the interest of honesty there is a chance I will be able to make it on the 8th, but I've got a strong suspicion I'll be working in some God forsaken part of the mid-west.

Thanks,
Turner

You can of course use it as a credit or get a refund, your preference. Just email our registrar and he should be able to help you out.

Although correct me if I'm wrong MSR experts, but it doesn't actually charge the cards until the event right?

Yeah, you don't get billed immediately.

I think it will attempt to bill you a couple days before registration ends, so if you cancel your registration you shouldn't get billed at all.

I am going to be there both days. Not looking to do the drive 2 days. Let me know if you are still looking for a roommate.
