Is there anyone here that can take the remaining Jimmy V/Feinberg glasses to the NCAC to sell? There is a lot of demand for them, at least if you believe FB. I can pick them up from Chris's and deliver them to you if that makes it easier. I was gonna swing by the bus today.

I always figured that a large amount of hairspray is needed to maintain the look in high winds. I assume the hair could pass Snell testing. Anyhow, as much as we give him (and his hair) a hard time, I always enjoyed seeing him autocross his Morgan as well as his vintage Chevy tow vehicle.

That's just shy of $13k

THSCC spent over $10k+ putting on the NCAC in 2006 at the Crown Center and I'd guess the site rental is a tad cheaper at Crown.

We got pretty much crushed this year in the Club Cup standings, but we went down swinging thanks to consistent top driving of Matt McGrain, Rob Keehner, Eric and Chris Peterson and Jen Bedell. The rest of us did the best we could but couldn't match the depth of CCR, Triad and NCR. Best New Driver Performance has to be Anders Miller for taking third in CS and laying the smackdown on his dad...it's been a real treat to see him get so much better in the last few years!

My own pyrrhic victory was losing to Mike Licursi by 2.5 secs over two days, as I usually lose by 2.5 secs to him on one day events, so that counts as an improvement. Plus, I successfully analyzed my failings on Day 1, and made the right call on car and driver changes for Day 2, resulting in a significantly improved effort.

looking forward to 2015!

I'm pretty sure everybody that went had a good time. Last year was frustrating for me because I had a good car but an injured back that made it tough. The course was tight and I didn't think had a good layout. This year I had a lot of fun, Triad did a really nice job. The event was run really nicely and they did a great job with setup and execution. They had a tough course and left a lot of room with wide gates for all sorts of activities.

My first run was a little out of control on Saturday because the track was gritty and green. It through me off and I made adjustments and got faster but it just wasn't enough. Sunday I had the car dialed in a little better and improved my gap to the leaders. Overall I was just a little outgunned by the top two, Noah and I will put the wrenches to it and come back stronger.

The THSCC turnout wasn't huge and that was disappointing because we got our butts licked in the club cup.

It was a great event considering I think the total was 173 cars that ran both days and close to 200 with one day drivers. The thing that I really love about the NCAC is that it's similar to a National style event because you're almost guaranteed to have a handful of drivers in your class and you don't really have to worry about Pax, course conditions or weather since you all run together. Also, Triad just implemented a new web based timing system similar to ours so it helped seeing the times though the day.

ZMax is pretty much the opposite of Danville or the old Sanford site in the sense that the grip seems to change in different ways through the day. Instead of the course getting quicker (brushing away gravel?), zMax seems to get 'greasy' and day one was brutal running in group 3 but the course was still fun. Day 2 running in the first group was awesome and the car really stuck but I probably overdrove less too.

I think we had 15 THSCCers and CCR has definitely got some heavy hitters, so they ran away with the cup with Triad close behind and NCR had a good sized crew make the 5 hour trip out. I'm already looking forward to next year and it sounds like we're up to bat for hosting duties.

Quickest and final run of the weekend if anyone wants to see the course

If the cup is merely based on the top 10-15 times from each club, it would seem to be weighted towards clubs with more heavily modified cars and karts (if they count, I'm not certain).

They do.

Best,
Noah
