10.3. To earn a year-end trophy, the competitor must be a member of THSCC. For Tarheel Sports Car Club year-end trophies, a competitor must enter and run at least one more than half the number of club events. If a competitor has run in a number of different classes, the class for year-end trophies will be given for the class in which the majority of events was run. If an equal number of events was run in multiple classes, the competitor will designate the class. Owners of late model green Miatas may be disqualified at the THSCC President's discretion.
10.4. Typically, THSCC will schedule 8 "for points" autocrosses each year. For year-end trophies, only 6 will be counted for each competitor. Unless otherwise instructed, the lowest point finish will be dropped. Season autocross class championship points are awarded as:
1st place finish = 9 points, 2nd = 6 points, 3rd = 4 points, 4th = 3 points, 5th = 2 points, and everyone else in attendance 1 point (yep, that's right; you get 1 point for just showing up).

Because 2014 is looking to not have our typical 8-9 events, I think it's about time to change the rules.

10.3 has a 'bug' in it since it's not clear how to handle odd number of events. It will be changed to adopt integer division rules which floors the result of division: 7/2 = 3.

10.4 starts with "Typically" which you'd assume leaves some wiggle room, but the 2nd sentence says 'only 6 will be counted for each competitor' which does not leave any wiggle room and seems tailored to 8 event seasons.

Here are the new rules:

10.4. Typically, THSCC will schedule 8 "for points" autocrosses each year. For year-end trophies, 2 events results will be discounted for each competitor. Unless otherwise instructed, the lowest point finishes will be dropped. For example: For a season with 7 points events, for which you participated in 4 or more, only 5 event results will be counted for the season championship. Season autocross class championship points are awarded as: 1st place finish = 9 points, 2nd = 6 points, 3rd = 4 points, 4th = 3 points, 5th = 2 points, and everyone else in attendance 1 point (yep, that's right; you get 1 point for just showing up).
