I know you guys are just having fun, but this would be a good time to point out for those novices lurking here that Tech is only checking a car for course safety - class legality is NOT checked, verified, or commented on.

That is solely up to the competitors.

Good point to bring up! Besides, bumpers shouldn't actually be needed on course as you shouldn't be running into anything...ideally anyway. (Cones notwithstanding)

That's not entirely correct. Those are certainly the mods that people talk about the most, but there are actually quite a few other minor things you can do. The best thing is to get and read a current SCCA Solo Rule book!

For example
"accessories, indicator lights, and other appearance comfort and convenience mods.."

There are also references to changes allowed in fuel caps, adding trailer hitches, adding roll bars/cages, "driver restraints", plus or minus .25 inch offset deviation in wheels, SS brake lines/clutch hydraulic lines on pre-92 cars, etc...

Read the book if you want to know the rest!
