How did you melt a stud? That's serious heat.

BTW, I have no problem with a slalom-intensive course, so pls don't see that as a negative.

BTW Shawn, nice driving yesterday. I drove my 3 for all it was worth and I just can't catch you.
Thanks Rodney. I think the course you helped setup was perfect for my car. :D TIR/RT has been a really fun battle this year and I don't think there has been a single event that the winner in class wasn't top 5 in PAX. There were a lot of good drivers this in class this year, between the Millers, Chuck, and yourself there were no easy days. The only Tarheel class that was tougher this year was STR.

It was somewhat of a joke. Jeremy said that that one of the TRM lugnuts came off with a slight struggle and then when the OE acorn lugnut went on that stud it felt hard to thread on and after trying to spin it on with the ratchet it felt like it was stripping so he backed off and then it 'froze' to the stud. All the TRMs went on with my fingers in the morning so there must have been a heat+chemical+8 year old stud that has been spun on and off hundreds of times effect such that some galling occurred.

I'm going to pass a m12x1.5 tap through all the lugnuts (oem and TRM) before the weekend assuming we get the rear studs and wheel bearings back together by then.

Like Shawn, I was puzzled as I approached the VDA yesterday. Where were the cones? Then I saw the bus and the location of start line and figured it out. Really nice of Sam to offer us the choice. I really, really, really, really liked the course! Well done everybody!

Great, great, great event yesterday. I drove like crap, but I didn't even care because I was having so much fun. As I understand it, NC CAR is willing to allow us to set up on the road course in the future, but they want more money for it. FWIW, I would be willing to pay more as an entry fee in order to do that again. Between Cherry Point last month, and Saturday, I'm not sure I didn't prefer Saturday.

A few of us were talking about how Sam was taking the drug dealer approach "first hit's for free", but much like illicit substances, this can be an expensive hobby as well if we start renting out the track. :P

Saturday was awesome and was definitely a pleasant surprise. Somebody asked me if we were going to do fun runs, and I told him that the last time we did 6 runs that it was on a 30 second course. Seven runs on a 65 second course? We made out like bandits.

Prefer or do not prefer Saturday?

Ok just making sure I interpreted that correctly :).

Honestly, it just isn't in our best interests to do a Sunday event at NCCAR (other than the EV Challenge weekend) so I can't really see us moving away from Saturday events at NCCAR.

Results! http://thscc.com/autocross/events/index.php?season=2013

Thanks to everyone for coming out and making the event a great success. I'm glad the new format worked as well as it did, and specifically that people drove within their means and didn't have any bad offs, and that people minded their manners on the return lap around the track. I am very hopeful that we can replicate the format for next year. The fact that everyone used good judgement at this event will give us the absolute best chances at being able to do it again.

Using the track circuitcross style definitely bumps NCCAR up a few notches on the site list, hopefully even Milko will make the trek all the way to Garysburg next time.

Edit: NM. My phone did not load the page correctly. It looks correct when I view it on the 'puter.

I just looked at the fastest times and they are the same in class and raw results... Can you elaborate on specifically what's incorrect?

EDIT: Oh, okay. :-)
