I know that a lot of the members are always up to helping us newer members so we can do the best to our abilities. However, when we are at an autoX, it can be intimidating or hard to find someone to help you get a "ride-a-long" for some help.

I KNOW I need a ride-a-long as I feel like my driving is getting into a rut, and I could use some pointers.

Feel free to post if you would like to request a ride-a-long.... or I could just look silly posting this.

Thanks!!

Brian Herring - #40 STX - 2003 Subaru WRX.

Brian and other new folks. My name is Phil and I drive the faded red 87 crx. If you want a passenger, just find me and I'll see what I can do to help out. Don't feel intimidated, go bug people. The worse thing they can do is tell you no.

Phil... bugs folks a lot!

Donna and I are always willing to become a passenger, feel free to ask us.
If you don't know who we are, we drive the blue GS Celica with the Capt America graphics on it. Donna's the one that's driving on the quicker runs!

Same applies for me. Find the big Yellow Mustang and ask for Todd.

Ride with Phil. He helped me a lot my first autox and I use his tips to this day.

The greatest "perk" this club provides is the opportunity for anyone to take another registered driver as a passenger with them on their runs (except novice with novice). EVERYONE, novice to pro should take advantage of that allowance whenever possible, it's one of the quickest ways to improve. Another driver in the car can pick up mistakes that you may not even realize you're making. You'll see Donna and I riding with each other on at least 1/2 our runs so we can critique each other's driving. If you think you've hit a wall in your driving, ask another better driver to ride with you, I'll guarantee they'll be able to point out a number of improvements you can make, no one is perfect. Except Tom!

At every event, I actually try to seek out at least one novice to help- either by riding with them, or getting them to ride with me, or both.

I'm always happy to have a novice passenger with me on at least one or two runs each event. Also, I'm glad to ride along with anyone who wants me to. I can coach better than I can drive... What's the saying.. those who "can't do" teach... and those who "can't do or teach" administrate!

Anyhow, look for me in the white 91 Corvette with the bright red interior, usually number AS-1.
