I can be there noonish also. May buy in 3-race stints though....not sure how well the old bones will hold up!

Unless you're into cruel and unusual....your brain will want to do more while you're NOT in the kart, but your body and common sense will say 3 is plenty. That's usually what we do. Especially if it's your first time out. It's easy to make mistakes after 30 minutes or so. Stay off the rumbles coming out of 11! And, they will black flag you if you put your wheels off. The course is awesome! You guys will have a blast.

I had a hard off and they were confused when I came in, so I guess YMMV.

I'm going to get the day off and I'll be there around noon.

So Jeremy, Noah and I did the 3 hour enduro yesterday at MMX and it was awesome. We got 2x 30min stints each and 30 min didn't feel like enough.

I'm pretty sure on Oct 4, we should buy a couple $200 10 packs and just split them amongst the folks there. Jeremy and I are probably going to get there early and do some test drives of some real racing karts.

The only disappointing thing about yesterday is that, even though the karts are all pretty new, there is definitely major performance discrepancies between the karts in terms of power, handling and tire grip. My hope would be that they keep that in check better (hopefully better than VIR rentals which are very inconsistent) but alas it wasn't the case. Granted for the enduro, they mandate kart changes for every driver swap (5 of them) so hopefully that, on average, evens out the field.

We were within 5 seconds of Donnie, Eric Peterson and Jonathan until Noah spun, but we only lost maybe 10 secs there and Eric was probably averaging 1.5-2s better a lap than me during our stint which would have resulted in being 1 lap down after 28-30 laps but somehow we ended up 3 laps down which just isn't possible so our transponder must have missed a lap or two :(. It was a hellava lot of fun nonetheless and now Jeremy has me thinking about getting a real kart....

Yeah, I'm taking Friday off and I agree the 10 race pack is the best deal for sure. I am getting there by noon at the latest because if we do several races, it could be a couple hours if they have the whole "Jr-Owner/Jr-Rental/Adult-Owner/Adult-Rental" cycle going every 10 minutes.

It might be advisable to bring some foam or something to pad your seat if you don't have a rib guard. Obviously nothing that could in any way go flying out of the kart mid track, though.

Maybe! ... if I buy even more #@%(&^ (parts) than I already have, rent a truck, have someone drive my S2000 up for me, some safety stuff I ordered comes in, and everything works; I might be able to take my kart out there for the first time. However, not necessarily planning on it :)

This is a clip of the "restart" of the enduro that James was talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aa03eywM4Uc Yeah, I know I kept bumping that guy, ooooooops.

I need to work on my car too, last minute for the win! Will likely be late tomorrow night before I get a chance to work on it :( At least it's simple stuff.

If the S2000 is back together, Jeremy and I will probably leave after breakfast.

I called MMX today to see how many races I have left on my card and during our chat mentioned that I was planning to run (maybe) with you guys. Is Tarheel the closed, private group running between 1-3pm? She said no, so I just wanted to be sure. Maybe she had her days wrong.

Hmmm, I don't think any of us called for a private group....if that is indeed the case, maybe we need to get their earlier.

Well, as I said, she may have her days wrong. I'm sure I said this Friday, but...
Who knows? Couldn't hurt to check, I guess.
