Haven't driven the 3 much lately after the JimmyV event. I think I hurt it pretty bad as is made some strange noises on the way home. Took it over to Rex's this week and we diagnosed 2 broken motor mounts, the passenger side hanger the the transmission support. Parts from amazon are on the way, so I should be good to go for Cherry Point....

It'll probably "fix" the clutch issue since the transmission won't be flopping around.

got it. Hope it's not too bad of an expense, and didn't cause other issues.

Yeah, they do that. You should have called me. MAzdaspeed motorsports discount is a lot cheaper for the parts (which you should sign up for yourself if you haven't already). Andrew knows all about this because he broke mine.

I plan to bring the wrx, with some now somewhat used and now rather expendable 17 inch tires. i say expendable because wrx loves front tires.
tall, top heavy, and front end heavy, they love tires. I wlll probably have to rotate tires over the weekend, so I wear all four evenly. If there is any tack to the pavement, they will be ate up real quick. Knowing nothing about mazda 3, I did not know the motor mount would give even on smooth asphalt. That sort of thing happens alot on rally cross, but on asphalt , that is a weak design. The bmw 3 would eat motor mounts on the front, because the g forces were higher than normal, with the coilovers. And we had to upgrade to 5 series mounts, we ate through so many radiator hoses learning this.

Since I rally cross now really, autocross is something I can do with my car, I do it maybe once or twice a year, meant ot go 2 jimmy v.. But parents were camping, nad I had no one to watch my dog, so I stayed home.. Went to TKD, and did other things.

Race with the best, something like the rest?

Also, shipping from Ontario, CA is ridiculous. You save a few bucks if you order directly from Mazdaspeed versus going to Rosenthal Mazda up in Arlington (whatup 2 day USPS service).

Yeah, I need to register w/ mazdaspeed, just been lazy. Right now amazon is my friend, 120 shipped for all 3 mounts...

Looking for a ride back after the event on Sunday to the Durham/Chapel Hill area. Emmie's going to stay on for a few days to visit college friends in the area, and I've got work on Monday.

Register by tonight or you will not be allowed on base! Don't drive 2+ hours only to be turned away!
