The Miata is always fun to drive but I miss the grunt of the Abarth….
I ended up coning my fastest run so I’m way down in the results of the tire class.
I didn’t even try to talk to him and it’s probably better that way.

But a Cadillac CTS V did…. The guy was not driving really smooth, at the end of a run the
Side air bag deploy…. I was working the course, and from where a was I saw only the side airbag
But I don’t know about the other. That was his last run.

So, due to a tank slapper the side airbag went off? - AB

Apparently GMs have been suffering with this issue for a while now. The lateral G sensor triggers the airbag. The system is not smart enough to use inputs from MULTIPLE source before making a decision to deploy the side airbags like wheel speed sensors/ABS sensors, lateral and longitudinal Gs, throttle position sensor, brake switch etc etc etc. The new Gen Camaros do this too.

I was almost tempted to check out an ATS until I heard about this :).

I bet you can replace a dead GM battery without going to the dealership.

Maybe GM doesn't want to end up like Hyundai:

I soooooo want a CTS-V wagon. Black. Black wheels. Tint. Oh, my. The good news is they depreciate 30% in after one year and nearly 45% after two.

Not a great autocross car, sure, but.....yowza.

Wrong. Amazing autocross car.

If you can't do a burnout from element to element, you probably shouldn't be autocrossing.

Where are you coming up with this stuff? A 40k mile 2012 CTS-V wagon will still fetch $45k-$48k all day long and the average purchase price (not MSRP) on these new were $59k (No one is paying the $65k MSRP). And that's with 40k miles in year one. The previous gen CTS-V's had big depreciation, but not these. - AB

You don't have to be confrontational about it. Even if someone paid $59k for one (now $45k) that still represents close to 25% depreciation--Close enough to 30% for me.

new 2013 at $75k

and

used 2012 at $50k.

2009-2011 CTS-Vs are in the high 30s-low 40s (too many on Autotrader.com to link here)

And yes, I am fully aware that list price =/= sale price.
