Hooray for two points events. Maybe I'll actually make the minimum number of events to qualify for a hotly contested year end trophy in FS :)

Now about the specfics.. how much does each day cost, etc? The event info pages on the website say "${WeDontKnow}" and "${MakeAnOffer}" where I expected to find times and prices.

How does the points work at the end of the year? Drop 2 events or 6 events total?

Per the rule book, they take your best 6 and you need 5 min to trophy.

Good call on the format! Plus, it helps us slackers to add another points event.

Looking forward to raising some funds for the V Foundation.

Correct to assume the switch to two separate points event has no impact on those of us with season passes? In other words, registration fee for Sunday's (not Saturday's) event is still covered by season pass, correct?

Yes and no....you will get 1 of the two events with the season pass. However if you want it to Saturday then email the registrar and Mary will take care of it :).

Hotel info:

http://www.ihg.com/holidayinnexpress/ho ... /amenities

This is the Holiday Inn Express that is near the mall (*not* the same one as last year). The group rate is $109 per room which includes hot breakfast in the morning.

There are only ~10 rooms but within a stones throw is a Hampton and Fairfield and this area looks to be a lot less sketchy than the other HIE and has lots of food and beverage options. It's only a few more minutes down All American Expressway (Owen more or less turns into this) than the other HIE.

Note: Reservations must be made by Saturday the 13th for the block rate. Mention Tarheel Sports car club when you book.

So their "Best Available" online rate is $104. Does our group rate come with anything special, like the breakfast or anything?

Yup, it's a breakfast included for 2 people, non-prepaid rate. I believe the $104 rate is no breakfast and prepaid.

You have to call the hotel directly to get the group rate. The number is 910.867.6777. It does include breakfast and wifi....

I saw a mention of ride-alongs on the Facebook page. What day will they be, and how do they work? Can my 10 y.o. son take a ride with me?

Sorry Bill, ride alongs have to be 16-17 with a parental consent form or 18+ and the waiver must be signed and the passenger must have a wrist band.

FYI, we're looking for experienced drivers for ride alongs (ie 2-3 years of experience)....wait, that excludes me kinda. Anyway, you know what I mean. We do NOT want drifting but if you can control a car that rotates well in a manner that results in a fast run AND high G's and lots of smiles then excellent :).
