You did a good job getting back on throttle well before the exit gate of the far end sweeper....I did that on my last run (which I botched in the slalom) but I think I hit the limiter 3-4 more times entering the slalom than on my fastest run. You were off throttle for a long time before the loop back sweeper...you probably could have dropped a few more tenths off that.

I beat Vincent ergo, nothing else really matters :sing:

Actually, Rodney is REALLY hauling the mail in his 3. Mad props to him, I don't know if I have raw timed him this year

I had a great time yesterday, really enjoyed the course, it had great flow and fast sections that were faster than first appeared, so every run I found I could push a little harder.

James, Thanks for riding with me. I guess I can weld the doors shut now and just "Dukes of Hazzard" it from now on  Your reminder to stay close was helpful.

Congrats to James M. on killer raw.

The co-driver thing seems to be working for James S and Jeremy E too, every event the two of you seem to get faster.

Rival's smell funny when hot...my tires, not my competition :D The feedback from this tire is awesome. I feel like I have more grip under braking than with the NT-01, and cornering feels about the same, but I am still getting used to them.

Not the first time I've heard that comment about smell. One person said it smelled of cat urine, so maybe there's an ammonia or urea component to the rubber compound? (not an engineer, so really a SWAG)

As long as I forget everything I know about significant digits Noah beat me by .0005s PAX. It's somewhat interesting though that AXware not only didn't handle the tie but ordered us 'wrong.'

I believe I was on the brakes through most of that. I need to wire my brake lights up to the MSIII so I can get a brake indicator in there too.

Damn, I liked that car, other than having to drive in the fetal position. Thanks to James for letting me drive when mine crapped out. 5th raw and 13th pax isn't too bad, maybe all my excuses about being underpowered have some merit.

Actually I am slightly less miniature - at least in stature. I actually didn't notice that you have any trouble fitting into cars with sunroofs :P

Nice event! Thanks to all who set it up. That was my first time the BRZ, what a blast that car is. It is def something that can be tossed around like you want.

THANKS Shawn for letting me know how to turn the stupid "smarter than the driver" traction control off for good!

@Jeremy, it was good to see you guys out there. You looked like you enjoyed driving the BRZ. And I rode along with Shawn once and he walked me through the encyclopedia of steps to 'really' get the VDC/TCS/VSA/<enter acronym here> to be completely off....gave me a headache (or was that the Mad Ballr from the night before).

Ya it was kinda crash course. That was the first time driving the car more than around the block. I did leave the ac on for my last run, totally forgot about it while "hotlapping" the car oh well.

Highlights:

  1. ...
  2. Ram spun and hit the cheap side of the timing gear at the finish. Unfortunately we did not have a spare reflector on the bus. Enter Sam True to save the day by taking the broken one to the NCCAR shop and drilling it out and having it back to us shortly. As punishment, I propose that Rodney and Ram get together and rebuild the two broken ones that are at Rodney's house and bring them to the next event  .
  3. ....

So i finished repairing one the reflectors, so it's good to go. I added a metal strip on the bottom of the reflector box, so it should be a little more stable. The other one may take a bit longer, I wankered the base on it pretty good when I hit it w/ the mustang. My nextdoor neighbor is going to drop the base off at a fab shop where the hopefully have some serious heat and can bend it back into shape. Once I get it back in a week or so I'll have it ready for the next event.

Good to get these off my "to do" list....

Best wishes for your dad Matt - hope all is going well.

I really regret missing the event today since NCCAR was so much fun last time. I'm stuck at home nursing the after effects of a sea urchin sting that healed quickly last week but then turned into cellulitis this week. Have to wear flip-flops, shoes too painful, so that wasn't quite going to cut it autocrossing. Hopefully going to make Fayetteville next month, but if I stay over am sure not going to stay where many of us did last year.

I heard about this at the event, ouch, that sh!t had to hurt. So what's the back story on this? Where were you? Urchins aren't known to be around the NC beaches....
