I need to replace the coils and wires in my RX8. I was thinking of going with a non-oem aftermarket set of coils & wires and was wondering if that would affect whether my car would be considered for the 'stock' class.

Not sure if I'll be going with it since it's 5x the cost of the oem, but was just wondering about the implications if I do.

If they are OEM equivalents.....ie NGK is on the box instead of Mazda (though NGK probably makes them), then that is stock legal. They can't be performance coils though.

If you are thinking of the BHR coils, I wouldn't consider them stock, even though they are an OEM Chevrolet part =)

I'm pretty sure that the SEB deemed the BHR kit legal :?:

Or did I dream that?

Personally, this off season I just went with a OEM ignition refresh as I spent my $$$ on a FSB, cat back and race tires
