Did someone just turn the switch off by accident, or did the aux power stop working.

OK, this is where I have to step up and admit I did something really stupid, like turn off the switch that was labeled "aux" power. My head must have been somewhere else. It was towards the end of the day and I heard the outside speakers humming. I thought, time to kill the speakers. I flipped both PA speakers and without thinking I flipped the power switch thinking it was for the speakers.

I want to offer my humble apologies for my bone head move and not speaking up earlier, but I was horrified at what I created and was embarrassed. I also want to apologize for creating a lot of unnecessary work for folks like Zach and Carlton. I owe you a few beers. The upside to this is we're looking into backups and purchased a new battery for the laptop. May I also suggest relabeling the switch to primary power.

Let the flogging begin and I'll pay my penitence by washing the bus....

Hey, I ran the damn bus into a bridge and you all still elected me prez, TWICE!

That said, i'd expect something funny on or near this switch soon :)

We should be able to reduce the chance of this happening to almost nil (or should I say, NULL? :-D) by doing the following:

1. Having a working laptop battery DONE
2. Tell Rodney not to flip the aux power switch DONE

If, even with those things done, the laptop somehow powers itself off in the middle of saving, doing these things will allow us to recover more quickly:

1. Enable volume shadow copy (a.k.a. "Previous Versions" tab), assuming this works with AXware's save interval (every 5 minutes/runs)
2. Have T&S workers run the AXware Backup function (CTRL+B or File > Backup) after every heat, and at the end of the event

In the long term, our event data is already backed up to Dropbox (with officers subscribed so they get the files) whenever the laptop has an internet connection.

I'm afraid to ask why Rodney hasn't returned the bus to Apex yet.
Did he kill the power to the bus again?

Hey Rodney, the Mustang has been whimpering for a couple of days now...
Do you want me to drive it every now and then?

haha.... yeah, I guess I should have left the keys in it  The bus should be back in your good hands come Friday afternoon. Haven't had a chance to attack the front shell of the bus yet, still looks like crap. Everything is washed, but it really needs a good rub down w/ power tools. Also need to throw away the trash and remove all the broken cones from the impacts when they were cold. Frozen cones don't fair well after being attacked by a front bumper. I think James is looking into some replacement cones.

Thanks a bunch, Rodney. The bus definitely needed some TLC.
