Congratualtions to Gwen Baake who was awarded the SCCA NC Region National Solo Driver of the Year at last night's annual awards banquet in downtown Raleigh. In addition to winning the HSL National Championship, contending for the L3 Pro Solo Championship this year, and becomimg a fixture in the top 10 PAX results with North Carolina's many clubs, Gwen has simply worked harder on her driving over the past several years than any of us in the sport! It's for those reasons she really deserves this honor and recognition!

Way to go Gwen!!!

Thank you for all your kind words. Sorry for not replying sooner. It's been a busy week and I didn't check out the forum until just now.

I am one of the most fortunate autocrossers that you all will ever meet. I found a sport that I love, friends in a club that I will always care about, and was lucky enough to be invited to join a team with two of the nicest guys and best coaches ever. There are many, many chic racers who are far better than I, but as I told someone recently, I don't think anyone else walked as many miles on course studying and dreaming about being able to achieve their goal as I did this year. It was a team effort, for sure. Make no mistake.
