That is what John and I are thinking. Hard to justify the $$$$, we will both rock the rx8 on street tires this year.

I'm still torn between STX and Tire/RTR-CS. I would probably run the same tires, just skinnier wheels in CS. I would also have to give back a little camber. Otherwise, I don't have an STX car and really didn't want to spend the money on one.

Tire-CS = 0.817 vs STX = 0.827, that's 0.5 seconds difference on a 50 second course. While I can easily make that up in a prepped STX car, I'm not so sure it's worth the handicap for limited prep. 0.5 seconds is certainly more than noise between runs. I also like running against a lot of the folks who will be in tire class. That makes things more fun!

Yes, just TIR with additional PAX benefit.....ie SP/P/M people are welcome (but the advantage of race rubber vs street tires is so much that SP/P/M people are still at a gross disadvantage so it will still heavily favor stock class TIR cars).

Street tire STX woo hoo.

Someone brought up an interesting point an an earlier post, will there be a mechanism for the "TIR" adjustment in X/Pro class? ie. can I sign up for RTR/A/F in X class?

Can't run ST* in TIRE and the X class question has yet to be considered.

I'm hoping my 18x10s and LSD make me a "little" more competative in TIR. FP is lonely. :(

Quit spoiling my fun. I've got to be getting close to OF class anyhow.

So what's the over/under that the magical new super star specs will sell out quickly? I forsee a bit of price inelasticity on these things, especially if they are quicker.

...just read they're even making a special version for the Scibaroo's. That's actually pretty cool. 8) (edit: in a couple of 18" sizes and 25/40/17... fail)

I heard TireRack is currently taking pre-orders over the phone. Give'em a call and your credit card and I'm sure they'll put you on the list. :D

Ha! I guess it makes sense if it's *the* tire to have in ST classes.

Enjoy the new LSD in the Mazda, I'm sure you'll notice a difference as soon as you get on the gas at the first transition. They do magical things in FWD cars.

AXware will not allow this easily. You can't be in two class categories at a time (X and TIR).

Exactly why I was flakey on my response :).
