That's what I am hoping for with my Star Specs. Screw changing tires in August, street tires at that.

I just want to run enough events to qualify for a season trophy this year :stick: Already scrambling for child care for event #1 :?

Here's my personal FWD lesson:
1. Turn to the apex
2. Stab the gas
3. Frontend pushes
4. Jump out of the gas
5. Transfer weight off the rear
6. Swap ends and look where you been

LOL, yeah I agree, but, in the one event I've done so far in the car, I found it interesting when I did some trail braking and car rotated on me. Need to learn to stab the gas once the car is pointed the way I want it. Lot's to learn....

Do you have eccentric bolts in the rear suspension arms? I find a little toe out was awesome for getting the WRX to rotate...probably not that different for the 3.

I found the WRX to be super pushy vs my Mazda2, and even Brice's Mazda3. Anybody at the first event last year can testify that it is possible to rotate a FWD car, but it isn't pretty.

My advice is to brake early and often.

Yes, has the eccentrics to adjust the toe, but since this is a daily driver, set to zero front and rear

Yeah, I had Mark Cooper set three toe settings on the rear. I had it down to a ten minute process to adjust toe, so I'd do it the night before. I didn't worry about tire wear as the awesome -1 degree on stock suspension would wear them out in a season anyway....turned out to make tire wear more even, especially if I rotated every other event.

Or, just get an uber stiff rear bar.

A very stiff rear bar is only beneficial to the point you lift the inside tire right away in transition. Rear toe out is beneficial no matter how high off the ground the inside rear tire is :-) .

I'm thinking of doing this to the RX8. What did you use to mark each setting? That's my only mental block issue right now.

I used Mark Cooper's magic white marker  and had him mark zero, 1/4 and 1/2 degree toe out on each side. After some testing it was clear where I felt the most gain from the toe out, so I used those white marks to dial it in for each event.

Not familiar with RX8 rear suspension, so I can't answer how much toe change affects camber. For the WRX, rear camber was fixed so that wasn't an issue.

My wrx pushes like a battleship, on asphalt or dirt. In dirt you really gotta be aggressive with it in slow corners. Fast corners load up the suspension, and let off, then counter steer and nail it to build boost and spin all four tires in a big slide. On asphalt, you really gotta make it lean heavy before you do anything, slow down straight line, then turn in like you mean it...Then power out. There is no subtlety with that car. The bmw is all momentum, the wrx is just slow down, turn adn power out repeat. You need to get used to body roll with my car too. The rally suspension with all that travel means it leans like Ron's old audi in corners. It dives a lot in braking too, alot. It can make you sea sick in fast slalom courses.
