Now that I have the time and it is reasonably close, I will be taking my first autocross school next weekend at the Evolution Phase II in Danville. Even though I registered a couple of weeks ago, I just read on the site that you are "required" to take the Phase I first. For those who have done both events, how much does Phase II build upon Phase I?

Is anyone else registered for this one?

I'm registered even though I've never done a Phase 1. I'll take it in my 2012 Mustang 5.0 automatic on all season tires since a single seater won't work for the school.

I think Mike Johnson and the Triad crew decided that for experienced autocrossers that they could teach Phase 1 skills as needed but I don't know for sure. I know that is the "plan" for me given my experience and "long lost" skills that I need to get back.

Wish I could go to this, really really do, but on call and can't make it.

Jordan, I think a Phase I school would not teach you much you don't already know.

Glad to hear I won't be turned away...worst case, I guess I'll get an expensive lunch out of the deal.

Dick, Will you be staying over for the autocross Sunday?

Scott, I hope to see you there. I'm not saying you need to go to a school or anything :D

I actually asked Hodges the same question on FB a few months ago before I knew the bike race was the same weekend.

He basically said it's no sweat but it's not a bad idea to go back and do Phase I after, if you plan on doing them all eventually. I'd still love to make it to one of these or a SoloPro one day on a set of R6's like Karl did several years ago.

No. Don't want to autox the Mustang and it will be too cold (and maybe wet) for the race car to be any fun at all.

So there's another Evo School coming to Danville in a few weeks. I've never done a school and am thinking about giving it a go, especially since my Bridgestones aren't even at half-life yet.

Anyone else thinking of attending?

If the Cary event is oversubscribed I may go to Phase 2. Hoping to do a 5k on 11/7 so Phase 1 is not possible. Really wish I could do a Challenge or Data/video school...
