Chris, Donnie, and I just wanted to thank everyone that participated in the Danville Autcross yesterday! The event seemed to run smoothly. Our goal for the first THSCC trip to Danville was to have a non-sucky event :-)

Best of all, the place was almost spotless when we left. I've never seen an autocross site so clean before! Chris and Maurice Parker (thanks Maurice) picked up a few pieces of litter that may not have even been ours.

Thanks again,
Donnie, Chris, & Eric

Great event guys. I liked the site even though I couldn't get any grip. Time for some R-comps!!! Can't wait to go back!

I think it's all of us that should be thanking Eric, Donnie and Chris for a great event this weekend!

As a VP, I know for sur ethey made my job easy, having everything taken care of in advance. Aside from the little timing glitch, things were as perfect as an event could be. They even paid the weatherman to delay the rain a day.

I thought the course was great, using as much of the site as possible, and incorporating a little bit of everything that makes autocross great.

If all our events go as well as Danville, we are certainly doing something right!

Scott

here here! Thanks to all!

This is a great site - and it looks like there is a lot more real estate to use in the future. I hope we were good stewards of Danville's land.

I had a blast! Thanks to all that put the extra effort in to make the event happen. Also, hats off to Miles and Dan in seeing that I was in AS as a Noob and for coming over to talk technique and strategy. Great sportsmanship.

Depends on what advice they gave. 8)

Thanks for a fun event and a bus that surprisingly did not overheat after idling all day.

I for one was very dissapointed when Danville fell out of favor as an AX site, so I'm glad to see Tarheel going there. For us at least it's as close as Sanford, and the wider runways allow more course variations. Sunday's course was a good one, I never did fully exploit that big sweeper. I only wished we had more tire left, I would have liked to make a couple fun runs around it to see how much I had left out there.
Poor Tom had a real rollercoaster ride day, I guess he hasn't mentioned his after the event adventure with the bus either. Or maybe he'd rather forget it. Don't worry Tom, I'll keep it a secret!!!

Great event guys, even though it didn't favor my automatic in the slightest with the sharp turn arounds, but I had fun so that is what matters. And remember at the meeting when I said Eric with the volvo liked the wreckers :D he made it home safely and is still driving it oround with the repairs from danvillle . I would like to thank everyone with the help they gave him on his behalf.

What happened with the bus after the event Tom? We are all curious.

I was almost out of gas and stopped at a gas station. Well my wallet was with shawn and the Subaru so I had to bum cash from the Franks to get the bus home :)

Hey ya'll leave Tom alone. He preps a damn fine race car and then drives it very well.

Having said that, it obviously takes all his mental energy and focus to setup and drive the car.....because other details seem to slip by him. Questions like where is my overnight bag?, where is my wallet?, and why is my waterbottle so close to the laptop? never seem to occur to him.

It must be a sign of genius :whoknows:

Just a quick off topic question...

Have the results been posted anywhere yet, I don't see them on the website anywhere?

Thanks!

This was the first time that all my "stuff" was in a different car then what I showed up (and left) the event with dammit.

Plus I was a little "dazed" from the laptop incident for the rest of the day.

Mary Fisher sent an email out that has the H&T version of the results. The web version will look very similar since we only entered the fastest run for each driver into the computer.
