Excellent day of autocross. That course and the grip levels made driving well a must. Everytime I tried to get to greedy with the loud pedal it bit me. Thanks again for the co-drive Rodney that is one fun car and you should definately keep driving it

My funniest moment of the weekend: I started the Mustang for the first time and my initial reaction was "oh crap what is that loud sound" followed quickly by oh that's just a normal V8  I need to get out of my comfortable world of 4 cyl more often. :D

Thanks to all who made it happen!

Here is a link to my best run but with various gauges added.

By the way, Kraig Klippel is using SoloStorm on an Android tablet for run review between runs. I was impressed! I don't know if it was because of the size of the 7 inch tablet display versus a smartphone but compared to MaxQ the information Kraig could review instantly was simply amazing.

SoloStorm is being modified to use Race-Technology DL-1 data as one source option. This will be very tempting since I have a DL-1 and an Galaxy Nexus Android smartphone. The R-T software is great for after event review but isn't practical for between runs like SoloStorm and some of the other products.

I had a great time yesterday and yes it was an interesting course. This is the best example of "slow in, fast out" I've seen in a while. You really had to drive w/ your head on this course.

Great job by everyone to make this final event of the year a huge success. 50-60 second runs, 5 timed runs and perfect weather. Great ending to a great season!

Ditto.

Lots of cool cars to check out this weekend too.

Great event to wrap up points! I really like the site. It reminds me of the ESA/ RBC center but with a more workable lot, very walkable and great for spectating with lots of shade.

Nice run! Yet another FTD taken away by you, nicely done. :-P What camera are you using to record? Looks like analog flicker on some of the high-G areas.

Here's my fastest run: http://youtu.be/JCdSsBd-O4E

I'd really love to get in an open wheel car one day...

Thanks Zach. Great looking run.

My camera/recorder system is a Race-Technology Video4 combined with an R-T DL-1 data logger. The video issues are probably due to the extreme engine vibration of the Formula Ford ancient engine design which seem to be at their worst (Node?) at the roll hoop . . . the only place to mount the cameras. Then the low sun angles into one or the other cameras cause other issues. I've installed camera lenses to give a pretty wide view to the front and a much wider view to the rear.

The vibrations are so bad that I destroyed 2 GoPro Wides under warranty.

How tall are you? My car is set up for a short driver with relatively short legs. Adjustment is practical but not an "at event" process.

Dick

Beautiful day, but my car broke... again... Sometimes I really hate that car. :( Trying to drive that thing without power steering is no fun. Thanks go to Rob for letting me drive his car. What tires were those Rob? I remember glancing and seeing Nitto NT 555, but that doesn't tell me what I thought it did as they make a variety of tires labeled as such.

It really was a great event--thanks to everyone who worked to make it so! Btw, I recommend attaching roller skates to the rear end of your car to up your Crowd Pleaser Index. Or, in a pinch, it turns out that 3-year old Star Specs will also do the trick. :)

It was a tough call on who won that battle between you and Mike Miller...or, for that matter, Robert Plank giving us the will-he-or-won't-he-spin tension every time he came down the four-cone slalom. Epicly entertaining, and looked like fun, too!

Haha! I can't believe I had any competition on that--I thought for sure I had the Most Spins Award all sewed up! I couldn't believe how sandy it was in that area entering the slalom--on my last run I dialed it way back and CRAWLED through there and still almost spun!

Ok, I'll be that guy.

Results?

I can't adequately bench race without them.

Well, OK...you take the "quantity of spins" award, but Mike gets my vote for "quality of spin" award as he spun into and through the finish, picking off every cone EXCEPT the 'spensive timing ones. Now THAT is precision driving...

I have proven that Z-0H-S#!T is an appropriate name for the car. Precision had nothing to do with it. I was loose coming into the finish, when I hit the brakes to stop the car just whipped around. I would accept the accolade for precision driving if I had spun at the finish and missed every cone. I always strive for quality, thanks for noticing it.
