IMHO this is making something more difficult and confusing than needs be. Use the past as a guideline for points and let the rest be gravy. I know I enjoyed driving my RX8 on Saturday and Frank on Sunday last year. Smarter not harder, repeat over and over again!

And yes, thanks to those who do the grunt work

John, how could you possibly have had fun last year, it was the same course both days, weren't you bored senseless? ;-)

Crap, said the wrong answer AGAIN!

So thanks everyone for all the feedback. The GM/Prez are going to make a decision and they'll let everyone know the format.

The more I think about it, it's sounding like a pretty good idea to just make both count for points and it's still a little bit of an advantage (why not, right?) to do both days for those that are making it a full auto-x weekend.

If you pay for two days and support the club for two days so what if it is a bit of an advantage for those who participate both days? Especially if it is easier to count :sing:

Well put Mr. Lupella. ...and the verdict is in!

For simplicity at the new site and for timing and scoring reasons, we will be running the same format as last year: Identical course both days and your best time from either day counts for trophies and Points Event #5 which will be presented along with the raffle Sunday at the conclusion of the event.

With a new unfamiliar site and such a big event (for us), this makes the most logical sense and does somewhat reward the folks that can make it out both days to support the club and the V Foundation for Cancer Research.

I'm excited about this format now and this gives your hard working officers more pool time Saturday evening instead of making a new course.

Also, don't forget to book your room if you want to stay at the Holiday Inn too as we've got 25 rooms (most they'd provide) on reserve right now.

Re: trailers

I was planning on bringing the car and trailer back to the hotel and asking someone to block me in. That site is just far too accessable to leave my (uninsured) car there overnight. Took a look at the hotel parking lot on gmaps and it seemed somewhat trailer friendly.

Re:trailers
I was thinking of sleeping in the back of my excursion to avoid have to break everything down, load everything up saturday night only to do all again Sunday morning and again Sunday night. If I do I guess folks could leave their stuff and hope I'm not a heavy sleeper. :-)

Unfortunately, a major crash while riding my MTB yesterday resulted in some broken ribs and a heavily bruised shoulder - so no chance of competing in the Huck on Sunday, and doubtful I'll even be able to drive my RX-8 by this weekend.

Keith, sorry to hear about your accident. I won't suggest there's a message there, but I'm glad you didn't injure your noggin, like a coworker of mine who went off a sheer drop on a trail at Centennial Campus a few years ago, and was out of work for the better part of a year due to his head injuries.

OUCH, sorry to hear Keith! To Art's point, glad your head is OK. Ribs will heal, but I've heard takes a while, just no way to keep them isolated. Get well soon!! We need you back out on the track!
