First it was Les and then Colin (and God speed to their recovery). While this isn't an accident report, it is bad news. According to Brice, he's received a phone call from Sanford that they are no longer interested in hosting our autocross events. They gave Triad the same booting. Seems they have received more safety related training requests and we didn't meet their criteria. This also means we need to find a new location for the Jimmy V. Brice is looking at NCCAR right now as an option.

serious bummer.....

So, we need to be on the look out for a least 1 new location. Right now this leaves us with NCCAR, Danville and L'burg.

Damn! What about using some of the sites NCR uses? I wouldnt mind driving farther if we can run at some quality sites.

I promise to vote for any politician that allows my tax dollars to be used (as well as my entry fees) to allow us to attempt to find ways of giving people an outlet to drive fast not on the street.

I further suggest that we protest by setting up an Autocross on a major thoroughfare like I540 or Glenwood avenue or downtown Raleigh by the Capital building to protest us getting kicked out of public sites. It would certainly be a better use of debate time than worrying about two same sex people wanting to be married or unionized or whatever.

Oh yeah, and could they not have given us more notice?

Dammit

Major bummer. They didn't even give room for discussion, did they? Oh, well. Sucks to lose a site, esp one so close to the Triangle.

Maybe contact Chris Severt at NCR and inquire about Warren Field. i know they had a bunch of hurdles to jump for that event to happen--including FAA approval--but if he thinks the field would be OK with two groups using their site, then maybe we should go east?

When is NCCAR going to pave their site?

I'm going to miss having a site close to the triangle.
