Chris and I only had four. I swear that's what I heard you say at the driver's meeting, and that's how we understood the grid. Oh well, still one more than I've usually been getting.

That's a bummer. I announced over the PA and called to grid on the radio to confirm they heard the announcement.

BTW I thought both turnarounds were well designed and fun.

I agree. I really liked the first turnaround. It was quite different than what we usually have since your entry and exit were so restricted. It's up there with the double c-box one and the single c-box turnaround as far as creativity.

Cone carnage is always hard to explain. I know for me the slalom caught me twice, completely because of getting behind. I had somewhat of an epiphany at VIR with how hard the car can actually turn and my hands just can't keep up in tight slaloms anymore. The other one was trying to grab 3rd in the wiggle section and just getting overwhelmed into the c-box.

I saw a lot of people tag the cone between the slalom and lane change right after the crossover.

That's what happens when you drive track. Your hands slow down and you try to smooth out slaloms. I suck at AX (More than normal) right after a track event, however, it comes back to normal after an event

I talked to the Yaris driver while he was working during heat 4. Turns out he's an ex-IT racer, and I guess he was trying to make the Yaris handle like an RX-7 track car. Happens all the time.

About that Chicago box. If you flip it and cars spin into the grass instead of the center of the runway, you might clip a worker or someone walking through the grass.
