no doubt about the juggling act--thanks for keeping things going! Hopefully the Danville courses will be more towards 55-60 secs than 40-45, but I'm not complaining--it's my fave site (Sanford would be #1, but worrying about skeetering off the taxiwayinto the woods takes away some of the fun.)

If you use the crossover for the start, go left and use the entire "dirty" portion, then up the entire runway, and back down and finish out the crossover, iirc, you can manage a 55ish course. I'm pretty sure the Westerfields did it several years ago with an "onion" and some "wiggle room", Kevin, Liz and James did it in 2010.

Now what would be cool, schedulewise (to finalize the rest of the season's venues), is if we could pull off the October event as joint event with NCR down in Havelock but it may come down to interest. I sent a message to see how it's looking for the 14th. /end hijack

Yes please! :sing:

Very similiar to the Wiggle Room you speak of....FTD was in the 75 second range. I'm excited about setting up the courses for Jimmy V this year.

You and Marcus are the EC's so sure just as long as the GM is cool with it... oh, wait a minute.

It's been a while since we've had a 60-70 second course and just stuck to the tried & true 4 run format with possible fun runs if there's time.

You'll see something similar at least one of the days next Sanford event.

I would be all for Laurinburg if we had access to the old area... where I did my first ever autocross and DNF'd every run on an 80+ second course. ;) But those days are long past. :(

Yay.. Danville is .. 8 minutes closer than Sanford for me.

Zach, I'm with you on the north end of the Laurinburg site. It was also the site of my first autocross, in which I achieved several personal firsts:
a) the first time I almost slid off into the weeds sideways while my passenger screamed "Gas! Gas! Gas!" (my first A/X car was a Civic  )
b) the first time I was told "we must do better" by the club veterinarian for almost sliding off into the weeds
c) the first time I was fussed out by a future friend for calling a DNF on her husband
d) the first time the muffler fell off my car during a run
and
e) my last event as a THSCC novice :)

It took me 22 more years to find this signature in the pavement, left by the builders in WWII. It's near the giant clump of weeds on last November's course. And I think it's very, very cool.

That event was my second autox ever. Did split run groups and it was wet in the morning. Jennifer spun out the MR2 on the first run of the day and I got worried so I kept the WRX stability/traction control for my morning runs (and I was slow). In the afternoon I turned it off and it blew my mind how much less pushy it was.

I was pretty glad I raw timed a GTR in my 2nd autox ;).

We should have put our initials in the pavement patch we made between days of a 2 day event that Graham and I chaired. (Our first)

I like lauringburg ... The bmw does not like rough pavement much, being so stiff.. But The wrx does not care.

Eventually I will get a job again.. And I will be able to afford nice tires for the wrx, then I can run either it or the e30.
Lauringburg is fun though, reminds me of the early days when courses were huge.
