Based on that price and the price of the various parts/upgrades etc, even counting 0 labor costs of doing it myself, $32k is a great price for that car. Low mileage, well cared for CRs are still going for mid to mid/high 20s. Though the brakes are a complete waste for an autox only car. That would have been probably $1000 savings to nix that. Coilovers: $5k, diff plus install: $3500, wheels x2: $1500, Gendron bar: $1k, Exhaust/hondata: $2500 plus another 2-3k of odds and ends (all rough numbers of course).

Anyway, I think the price is good.

I want to build it myself though :).

IIRC, those brakes are from the STR Wilwood kit thread on S2ki.com and save a whole 4 or so lbs on each corner. For someone that drives at his level, I would think every pound saved was worthwhile....for me, notsomuch.

But yeah, that's a turnkey built-to-the-hilt STR car for a fair discount off total cost.

Edit: James, here is your car.

It's a great price. Hell, you could buy it, part everything out, and end up with a pretty good deal for a clean CR.

I agree those parts are top notch and Marc doesn't seem like the type to cut corners. Keep in mind how much club racers are going for anyway. Then again, with any 'broken in' auto-x car, you have to block out the number of times the car has been beat on for a better night's sleep unless of course your funds are unlimited.

I don't get the Z06 comparision, but yes, you can get a pretty badass one for $32 large but you won't have a big F1 wing blowing in the breeze.

Its your cash, feel from to blow it however you like, but I know if I were spending 32 large on a car, it would NOT be a Honduh. In fact as my garage is beginning to prove, it would likely be spent on several cars combined. :D

I think what he is saying is that on an autocross course a stock C6Z would be just as fast and in every other measurable way would blow the doors off the S2K, so which is the better way to spend $32K? I guess that depends in which fanboi camp you pitch your tent?

Hahaa! True indeed. Like I said at the Piedmont event, for a used car with a $20k budget, the Z06 is definitely the best thing going if you want the best all-around car for the pricepoint.

The Cr's sort of fall into that catagory of slightly unorthodox looking Hondas, that people love or hate in a sense I guess.
