That whole website is a joke, so I'm thinking he was joking, I certainly hope so at least.

I'm debating the same. Got wheels and tires taken care of and working on the sway bar. That was going to be it for now until I was leaving this morning and Judi asked me when we were ordering shocks and coilovers.

James is pretty damn close to convincing me to do the same. I'm looking at the PSS9s, looks to be a good combo between performance and price. What are you guys looking at?

I love the PSS9s I've had on the Miata for the past 7 years, though the springs rates that came with them were all wrong so I had to promptly change them. Replacement springs aren't too expensive but should be considered when comparing. Not sure if this is the case with the S2K.

Here is what 17x9's on a lowered S should look like. Those are 17x9 TSW's with 255 RS3's. The car was lowered about 1-1.25 inches.

Ya, to agree with Les, the pss9's on "FRANKS" are pretty tough!

Glad to hear good reviews of the PSS9s. I think the springs that come with them are 345/285 and are progressive, definitely not stiff enough. Not sure if I'll get new springs right away, I'll probably try out the ones that come with it and let my wallet recover for a bit before going further. Apparently people have good luck running 500lb springs without a revalve. I think anything much above that and you're going to be under dampened, but I'm no expert.

Another bonus from doing the suspension, even if the spring rates are still a bit too soft, is that we should be able to get enough (or at least more) camber out of the front once it's lowered. I don't think you can get much more than -1.8 stock.

Those could be the 45 offset wheels, Matt. My 17X8's with 45 offset looked almost that bad before I got it aligned. It had zero camber, which is what that one looks like it has. Also doesn't help the looks at stock height with those wheels/tires.

I was thinking PSS for coilovers, since I don't like adjusting things. Okay, or waste of money?

This thread is going to be 100 pages before we even start this season.

With 255's on stock suspension, right? I'm most likely not going to make the coilover plunge this year if I don't want to sleep in the tool shed.

If we can go 35+ in Rodney's Bullitt/MCS quest, I have little doubt.

I was thinking the STR drivers could post our discussions about the various events this year in this thread then we could get to 100+ pages!

Bilsteins? Those leaves better starting growing!

Not a waste of money, but they will require a little more work. If you change the spring rates and have an issue with the valving, they are cheap to revalve. $60-75 the last time I checked. They are also fairly quick at getting your parts back to you. They had my shocks back to me in 2 weeks and that is the norm for them.

My PSS9s fully adjustable in ride height and damping and did not come with progressive rate springs, these must be different.

not for the adjustable bilsteins, they were $120/each for rebuild/revavle last I checked.

He asked about the PSS kit, I thought those were non-adjustable shocks?

I've convinced myself that I will own an S2000 one day as well, until then Zach has been gracious to let me drive his like I stole it... and bought tires for.

Looks like Zach and I have decided to raise the ride height on the s2k prior to the chillycross @ VMP on Jan 15th. I'm pretty convinced it's going to rub on the outside edge of the front tires if we don't.

Anyway... I encourage everyone to come out to the VMP event, it'll be fun and cold as all hell! Who said you can't autocross year-round! In case of snow the following weekend is already setup to be the make up day. It's a NASA event so be sure to read up on your rules! S2000 stock is NXB** if i'm not mistaken.

I could be wrong, maybe its the BTS kit that comes with progressive springs, I thought it was strange that one site said progressive.

My understanding is at the PSS and PSS9 are mostly the same, with the PSS9 adding adding compression and rebound adjustment.
