Fun course, even though I overdrove it almost every time out hence the only two clean competition runs all weekend.

Congrats to Stephen W for whoopin up on me. Great driving.

Ahh, that was refreshing. 12 hours of sleep and a head cold after being in the sun for almost 30 hours this weekend (not sure how that happens)......Because Race Car

So I have to say even though I greatly contributed to the course design, it wasn't that good for the SI. I was shifting to 3rd in the least opportune times in 2 different places. Plus I overdrove like a mad man and was late on a lot of elements. But nonetheless I had a blast drive it, what, 14 times (with bracket races) :).

Glad everyone enjoyed the course and had fun. We made a lot of money for the V Foundation and everyone should be really proud of that.

What a fabulous event, thanks to EVERYONE that made this event happen. I'd like to give a special shout out to Jeremy Christianson, Ram Vennam the event chairs and the James Short the GM. Great course setup, for me that was one of the best courses in Sanford I've seen. Nice and flowing and also included the "V" in several places, nice touch. I also wanted to recognize all of the officers and staff. I think everyone went well above the call of duty to make this a very successful event.

I'm still a little disappointed at the final numbers in regard to turn out, but the up side is 5 timed runs each day plus the bracket race....very cool.

Also, a special thank you to Bowie Grey and his assistant (name escapes me at the moment) for cooking up the dead birds on Sunday. Always great to have Bowie on site. As for the amount of food, we sold 1 ticket to many, so thanks to James for making the 75 sandwich call pretty much right on the money, should have had a bet on that!

recognition of our raffle merchandise and supporters....

> Discount Tire and Jeb Brookshire for $250 off on wheels and tires and the discount gift cards
> Flow Mini for a free weekend rental of a Mini convertible.
> Premium Imports for 5 free oil changes and 5 free tire mount and balance
> Blincos for some $25 food gift cards
> EVXP.com for bringing out the Tesla car for display
> Loop Road auto parts in Garner for a $100 donation to the Jimmy V
> and as usual, some great discount and free events from your favorite car club!

Last but certainly not least, a special recognition of Wes Eargle for starting this great club tradition. Many Thanks Wes!

Thanks to everyone, drivers, spectators, kids and dogs that came out to make this a great event!!

Until next year

Yesterday was indeed a lot of fun. The course was awesome. Thanks again to Todd for letting me run (overheat) his Miata to get a couple of runs. It turns out I don't fit in Ryan's CRX with my helmet on.

Congrats again to Stephen for winning FTP yesterday!

Thanks to all those that put in all the hard work to make this happen. Great event! I must say that was one of the better courses we have had at Sanford. Usually its slalom after slalom and then another slalom.

I continued my run of coning runs and finally backed it down enough to get a clean last run.

thanks for a great event, and as noted above, the course was very well-designed. It really favored folks who were stingy with the brakes and had the guts to go for it on some of the elements. Whatever the ECs and GM did to appease the weather gods worked, because both days were fantastic for mid-July!

I think it should be pointed out that Mr Carter was on fire this weekend. Using what other regions uses for street tire index (97.5%), Steve would have been just behind Steve Westerfield for #2 pax by a tenth or two :).

Maybe subconsciously I designed this course for my old car.....not my current car ;).

Looking at my MS logs, with how fast I was going through that part of the course I should have just left it in 2nd the whole time. I was only going over what I could do in 2nd gear for about a second, and not by much. (Bouncing off 2nd gear rev limiter is 64.2 for me)

Ram just informed me that on his 62.8 he stayed in 2nd and banged the limiter forever.......wow.

my fastest on Saturday i was banging the rev limiter on the front part and only shifted into third at the finish. Sunday my fastest I shifted to third on both sides, but stayed in the gas most of the way from the start of the lane changes till the cone turn to cross the track. so......

damn i need to get my ms stuff hooked up where i can run me some ms logs.
