My camera ate my fifth run (too bad, it was my fastest), so I'm just posting this to give folks who aren't here a feel for the course. Sorry about the wind noise!

Damn that course looks like it would be fun in my higher HP car. Picking it up tomorrow. Good Luck on Sunday!!

And also, Day 1 results:

Raw: http://highlandssportscarclub.com/wp-co ... y1raw.html
Pax: http://highlandssportscarclub.com/wp-co ... y1pax.html

Matt is leading a close race in GS, Steve is in striking distance of a trophy in Tire, and it looks like Les' rebuilt Vette is pretty quick once he gets it started! :D

Oh.

My.

My oh my oh my. That was a fun weekend! Fantastic layout at a ginormous venue--I have GOT to put every ZMax event on my calendar for next year. Love the elevation/camber changes, especially squealing my tires around the off-camber sweeper. I had a pretty epic comeback from sixth place to second place==can't do the math but I think I got kinda sorta close to first, but not for my coning away my fastest run on Day 1 I might've had a shot at first. There's always next year....Speaking of which, how can we arrange to have NCAC at ZMax every year?

(PS....I can see why people would drag a car halfway across the country to do this hobby. )

Big thanks to Highland and all involved for making an excellent autox weekend happen.

Here is my 5th run sat. Bad language warning.

Here is 2nd run on sun. I forgot to turn the camera on for my 3rd and fastest run. Another bad language warning.

I couldn't get decent grip or make my car turn the way it needed to, so I didn't really have fun on day 1. I opted to go to the mountains on day 2, where I found lots of grip and lots of rotation, and enjoyed it very much. :D

It was great hanging out with people at Flying Saucer, Quaker Steak and elsewhere. It was a fun weekend, except for that hour and a half of freezing to death while working the course, and the 5 minutes of sucking at autox.

Hope to hear that others did well.

FWIW, day two had lots of uphill and on camber turns with more heat on the asphalt and boat loads more grip and the course was SO much more fun than Saturday. Damn I wish they would have done those two course on reverse days.

First of all, congrats on just plain destroying the lead I had on day 1. Naturally, I was blaming other factors for my shitty driving today, but after watching the videos, I can see you just plain drove really well. Your steering input is just much smoother than mine was, and you stayed really tight. I really need to learn to be smooth. Nothing like getting your ass handed to you in your own car

Check out how much the shifter moves!!!!! No wonder we always end up in 5th instead of 3rd.

It was an awesome weekend. Kudos to Mcgrain, Wally, Jennifer, Gwynn and Jeremy for wins in their classes. Outstanding weekend all around.

And for posterity, me and my broken key

Wow, way to go!! I wish I'd been able to hang around for fourth run group -- it sounds like that's where all the drama was.

Here's my 59.4xx from Sunday for comparison to James': :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDhSjjgn ... ideo_title

Damn, that is a nice site. That almost doesn't resemble any type course we do.

I had a great weekend and the courses were a lot of fun. It was very cool driving a car again on course for the first time since April. Glad to see everyone out there and hopefully we can get the NCAC there again next year!
