I for one am thoroughly offended that you would even think of cheating in such a blatant manner James. As an officer of the club and GM of this weekends event I'm gonna have to demand that you run in your proper class regardless of how your competitors feel. I just could not in good conscience let you take advantage of your competition in such an deceitful way.

Looks like I might as well go 2.0L on my 2001 block and turbo the Miata to ~300WHP then :)

So about that bringing a gun to a knife fight analogy... is the gun a .50 cal?

Actually Bernie's car makes 405hp...at the wheels.

Now that sounds like an outstanding plan! Actually you should stuff an LS6 in it instead, I wouldn't protest you running SSM even though I think that would still be an illegal swap in SSM.

Oh and if it wasn't clear to anyone my previous post was totally in jest, honestly I haven't looked at SCCA rules in like 5 years. I mostly hate rules and am pretty much the opposite of a "rules nanny".

I wonder if I could claim that since Ford had (when my Miata was built) a decent sized ownership of Mazda I can swap in a 5.0. I'd prefer the LS motor but it's easier to torture the SSM rules for a 5.0.

However Richard Castro just posted a link to:

http://jalopnik.com/#!5703588/kmv4-a-mi ... otorcycles

Which would be interesting with a turbocharger on it since it's only 1.6L and would have a nice low minimum weight in SSM.

If you do my work shift I won't protest you. Otherwise I'll just tell Les once your times are better than mine. Which should be 4 or 5 runs worth....

And my car is back together with 12 hours to spare!

The power loss is pretty noticeable :(

glad it is back together for you. U think just the compression is worth a good bit of power?

I'd imagine so. I went from 10.5:1 to an internet estimated 8.8:1.

Uh oh.....looks like Ram is getting the itch for some race rubber. Being on little 205 star specs yesterday, I have a feeling that people better watch out when he shows up to L-burg on HoHos ;).

That would be awesome for sure. You looked really fast in that little silver Miata Ram.

If I have time tonight I'll post a couple of decent photos I nabbed of you (and a bunch of other people from group 4) with my ancient Sony digital camera.

SM6 are relabeled R6s. And Ram probably has the ONLY legal CSP car in the club so back off! :)
