I emailed Carl and Emmie but have not heard a response so I figured I would post up here as well. I have spoken with an autocross VP and he assured me that I will be able to run my kart at Danville so I went to pre-register for the event but F125 is not an option. I just registered under "?" for the time being.

If nothing can be done to the pre-reg I will get it fixed at registration on Saturday, so no biggie.

Thanks,

Keith

It probably wouldn't take much to push me in the direction of getting a kart for autocross. :? I think I need to look into this.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

Is there anything in the rules about your knees having to be below the steering wheel? :)

A set of tires is actually less then $250 and that is for the tires that the top National guys run. Sets of wheels for less than $200 if you buy them used, new they cost just over $200. The motor needs more attention and if you get a built engine like mine is you need to run 110 octane leaded race gas but the rush is unlike anything you will experience in anything else! I can promise you that.

Gwen already called dibs on a fun run. :D

Keith, if you don't mind me asking, how much did the kart itself cost? Or maybe in general, how much can you get a goo f125 kart for used (or new)?

Well a new one race ready will cost you somewhere close to $9k. My kart which did not come with many spares but has a kill engine and has been meticulously maintained can be had for around $3k. You can have a really nice setup for under $4k and you can tow it behind the WRX no problems.

You get a vehicle that makes around 40 hp and has a 385 lb minimum weight with driver and gear and the consumables are cheap!

The question is, will it fit INSIDE the WRX :).

I highly doubt it. They range from 48-55 inches wide and are about 72 inches long.

Awwww shucks. The WRX hatch is only 43" wide and 55" deep :(. Anyway, if a Mustang GT can tow some tires or a kart, then a wrx HAS to be able to ;).

Yeah, just a little.

I'm slightly interested in that rule changing, but I recall there was a legitimate reason for it being there. Don't remember why though.
