Just read that Brice (may I assume Mary too) are going to be @ Cherry Point. So am I. Looking forward to it. Have 4 in HS.
Anyone else going?

Its just too close and too good not to.

Word to the wise about driving on base, PMO doesn't play around.

Will they send out an email about where to go on base? I know the place like the back of my hand and I "think" I know were its going to be.

You should have gotten something yesterday through MyAutoEvents.com. This tells you where to go once on base.

Lastly, we must enter the Foxtrot Taxiway a different way for this event. We will enter through the main gate as usual and continue down the main road at Cherry Point until you turn right on Access Road, then turn right onto Duffy road which is close to the end of Access Rd. The entrance is the first parking lot on the left which is just after the first road on the left. Use caution due to numerous pot holes approaching the gate. We will be setting up further down the taxiway that we have for past events, so be aware!!

To all who will attend: Remember, the MP's don't screw around. Don't speed. Seriously. I'm going to try to get to the main gate around 7:30 AM, if memory serves. Seems like the last event we attended we were pulled over to the side just past the gate until there were several of us there. Then we went down to the site as a group.

Hehehehhehehe, that's funny. There are no potholes, Duffy road has been patched and resurfaced in the last month. I know EXACTLY where we are going, I bid on the job to fix Duffy road and another to fix the road we are going on to taxiway Foxtrot.

Access Road is the first stop light after you go past the main runway and you can only turn right, so it should be a no brainer. Go past the landfill and its the next right.

Had a great time today @ Cherry Point. Weren't but 2 of us from THSCC, but we snagged 3rd and 4th in PAX. Yes, Ryan (3rd) still says pax sux. It was a good course. They "borrowed" some of the elements from the East Course @ Nationals. It was pretty fast, 6 runs, but only enough drivers for 2 run groups, so you were either running or working. All packed up, trophies, and on the road by 4 PM.

Yeah, had a blast today! Great site that only going to get better once they finish paving.

Kinda surprised by my 3rd place PAX (it still sux) car is still tight, I think I went a little too heavy on the front spring and could have used a bit of a bump of the rev limit for todays course. I took video, i'll post some once I figure out how to chop it up

NCR chapter of SCCA. (Chapter #55) This was their last Cherry Point event this season, but they have 3 planned there next year. There next event will be in Wilmington in November.

Only about 30% of the runway paving is complete. You sure can tell when you transition onto the new asphalt :shock:

Yeah, I wish I had gone, but the budget is really tight these days not to mention we ended up having company over for football. Part of the reason I had signed up also was that I thought Jeff Eng was going to buy my tires but that fell through. Given that it went from a money making event to an event that COST me money, I had to back out unfortunately. Looks like a lot of fun though.
