Ok... I realize that I am probably volunteering myself by asking this question :D ... But I was wondering if anyone was organizing a chicks school this year!! I only ask b/c I don't think I would have had the guts to start racing without it and I am sure there are many women out there who could benefit by us holding another one this year!! I know it was alot of work for those who organized it last year but I am currently unemployed and would be willing to do alot of the work with support from someone who knows what they are doing!

Just wondering if this is something we could do!! I would love to see more ladies get involved!!

Just let me know what type of 'help' you would require. I am sure that Stacy would attend, but she tends to run crazy work schedules.

Just let us know.

Thanks!

We don't need another Chic School -- the women in this club already drive too well!

I have read Title IX, and if THSCC ever wants to see any federal money under the "No Autocrosser Left Behind" act, we will have to provide the same accommodations for both sexes in car classing. This means that in addition to Open, Novice, Tire, and Ladies, we MUST also provide a "Gentlemen" class for each open class. This will improve self-esteem among the masculine contestants by removing them from the intimidation and estrogen-fueled antics of the women running in these classes.

As an alternative, maybe we could have a MANDATORY Ladies' Class, paxed like Street Tire, so they can't be bumped into a regular class. It's that, or learn how to drive my car, and I don't think we want to go there!

I mean, really, last weekend it was hard to tell whether it was Kathy or Patrice driving the family Porsche, and I don't even want to talk about what Diane is doing with the Melton Mustang. We all know that there are Open Stock classes where testosterone won't buy higher than third place.

It's time to get SM2 (Supercharged M2 Miata) class back to its original intent, which is a haven for the 40+ (okay, 40++ . . .+), automotively inept guys to motor around the course in our blown Japanese four-bangers. German iron driven by a pair of French ringers was not in the plan, folks! Wasn't a season with the Feinberg Miata punishment enough?

If Mario Andretti were alive, he'd be turning over in his grave.

AMEN GORDON!!

I assume you mean "if Mario Andretti were dead, he'd be turning over in his grave" right?

Malia - I probably have the "discussion" notes I used last year somewhere if you end up doing a school and the person doing the discussion portion wants somewhere to start. Lemme know.

If his father were alive today he'd be turning over in his grave.
-- Leo Rosten

Of course, Mr. Andretti's continued vitality is gratifying to all, but this quote, often attributed to Samuel Goldwyn, is nowadays generally used with regard to the living, making it a sort of double malapropism.

Now that is a word you can sink your teeth into.

Ok, back on topic....

My wife was registered for last years class, but was unable to attend at the last minute. I will check to see if she thinks she would be interested in something like this again.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

I will attempt to talk my wife into attending. I tried last year, but this year, she owes me (or at least that's what I keep telling myself).
