They’re ubiquitous because they are great. Good things tend to catch on. I had to wait for the NC before they made a Miata that I could fit in. I was jealous from 1990 through 2005. My previous car was a 1975 280Z that I sold a year ago. The only reason that I kept it that long was that it was the only sports car that I fit into. We stopped driving the Z because it’s handling was so poor capered to the Miata. It looked and sounded cool though.
