I would say, no disrespect Art, but I wouldn't be to enthused if the course was the same Saturday and Sunday. I understand the point in that more people would compete in the championship if both days were not a requirement, but to those who know they are going to be there for both days, it seems quirky. And I think it's the people who are already committing the full weekend to this event that should be catered to first. Unfortunately, I don't have a solution proposal as to how to appease those who can only make one day.
+1 for what James said. Part of the challenge for me is to put together 2 good days for a good combined time.
Well another thing too is that getting only 4 runs means you have to be very strategic about trying to milk every second out of the car/driver (ie knowing how to make major adjustments after each run....good 'mental game'.... as opposed to a few small tweaks each run over 8+ runs). With 8+ looks, those who may not 'learn/read' the course well are eventually going to 'get it' and put down faster times. I definitely think there is a good bit of skill in learning/reading the course quickly and driving it well in those 3-4 runs (I'm still very far behind on this however

). Said skill is overlooked as the number of runs on the same course increases IMHO.
If the party Saturday night is good enough, you're fastest run won't be on Sunday. Or at least, that's what someone told me
I'll just leave my suggestion as food for thought the next time we host a 2 day event, NCAC or other. To me, it's a matter of whether we're trying to please those whose competition focus is divisional/national events (not THSCC club events or NCAC), or are we trying to cast a wide net to bring in folks who for some reason (there are plenty of valid ones) can't attend both days of the weekend. I'm guessing some of my "Premier Amateur" THSCC friends fall into the latter group. The former will show up anyway.
