Gang -

With me being in the last four days of my last two weeks in this job, I've been somewhat preoccupied, and as a result, have missed something for this weekend. So, here it is:

We need a bus driver for this weekend's event in Laurinburg!

As most people now know, bus drivers get free entry into the event, as well as a free night's worth of your hotel stay, should you choose to stay in a hotel. You can reduce the cost of this weekend by probably $100 by volunteering.

Any takers? Do we already have a taker and I've just forgotten about it?

Thanks!

I might mention that the bus is @ Pet's Companion. It can be picked up anytime, of course, but if someone wants to get it earlier and take it over to Chris' (or where ever) to be more convenient for the weekend, just let me know.

Oh, and while I'm thinking about it, bus driver...and you know who you are...don't wait until you're in route to PM me for the gate code if you don't have it ('cause I may not be on line). Give me a call on my cell @ 919-210-3741. Thanks. :P

The bus driver assignment just got a little easier, folks. Due to lack of interest, we have canceled the Saturday test day, so we no longer need the bus to be down there on Friday afternoon. That means that the bus driver gets his hotel room for free, AND gets into the event for free, AND doesn't have to shag cones during the event. Surely somebody is interested in this. :)

And just to make the point clear....

if there's no bus, there's no event!

Also, one way or another, the bus will be in Apex prior to Friday, so you probably won't even have to go much out of your way to get it.

Just curious, but how do bus drivers usually get their car down there as well for those who do not codrive with someone?

Do they remove one of their wheels and throw it in the bus, get a wheel with a crappy tire on it, puncture the tire, put it on the car, call AAA, get the car towed to the Lauringburg Maxton airport and then put their good wheel back on?

It always varies, but generally, its people who are co-driving. For the Sanford event though, I brought it down to the event since I actually work in Sanford and carpool, so it was easy enough to work out that way.

Wanna co-drive my car for the event James? If you or someone else can get my car to and from the event (preferably someone in the Cary/Apex area) I'll drive the bus.

Next time we buy a bus we need to get one big enough to hold all the gear. Then we can get a trailer to tow the the bus driver's car.

I appreciate the offer but now that the shocks are all figured out on my car, I'm looking forward to driving it on Sunday.

Guys, I've put a lot of work into this event, I really don't want to see it cancelled b/c of lack of a bus driver. Anyone here who is co-driving, please just volunteer to drive my car to the event from Cary. I am offering a free co-drive in my car if you drive it to the event for me.

If you can't find anyone else Maria can drive me up to Pet's Companian Inn on Saturday morning and I can drive it to Chris' house.
