Tim Aro & Jinx Jordan are putting on the 2-day Extreme School on August 6 & 7. That's a Friday and Saturday at the Danville Airport. This is the school where they use in car data, the DL-1 from Race Technologies, to compare how you are doing compared to the instructor *and* to measure your improvement. You'll get more seat time than you've ever had in a school...with two of the best instructors.

This really is the ultimate autocross school.

Chris P. is signed up already and I believe Karl S. is also taking the school.

Registration info is below:

It appears my trip to Aruba will be the death of me. Any chance of another of these nearby in the fall? - AB

Eric,

Can single seat formula cars be used? :?

This rusty guy is way out of practice! :(

Thanks!

Good question Dick. I think the answer is probably yes, but I suggest emailing Tim at tim@soloprodrivingschool.com so you guys can discuss how best to give you feedback during the school since they can't ride with you.

Good luck,
Eric

Aaron, I have not heard of another Extreme on the schedule in this area, but they can get organized quickly. You may want to periodically check the Solo Pro website and let Tim/Jinx know of your interest. I'm dying to take the school myself, but the timing isn't right this time.

Sounds awesome but unfortunately the timing for this one won't work for me either. :(

What's the usual cost of such a school? And are there any prerequisites for taking the 'Extreme' course? (I didn't see anything between Intro and Extreme).

Thanks!

I signed up last week, and am really stoked about it since it's coming before Nationals.

Cost for the 2-day Extreme is $550.

Solo Pro offers the Intro and Competition Schools that are 1-day. Costs for those depend on the clubs, the site, and such. A 1-day typical school is in the $250 range, I've seen them +/- $50. The two day Extreme is more expensive b/c it's 2 days and you have access to their data acquisition equipment.

I've read all the student reviews on the Extreme School over the years, even when Tim was with Evo, and the reviews (scores and comments) are almost always through the roof. Quite simply Tim and Jinx are 2 of the best instructors in the country.

This. I attribute a large amount of the improvement in my driving over the last twelve months to the Solo Pro school I took. Instructors were Eric, Jinx, and Tim. What I really dig about Solo Pro is that it's not the same old thing where you have to write "I will look ahead" on the blackboard a thousand times.

I'll be there. I haven't figured out how I'll pay for it, but that's part of the challenge of autocrossing.

Just to bump this back up. There are still spots available for the SoloPro Extreme School coming up. I've taken this 2 day school before and can tell you that it is very (extremely) worthwhile. Whether you have certain things you already know you want to work on, or if you need for them to "find" your problems, they can certainly give you the tools to become better -faster- drivers. Hope to see you there!

Gwen

PS (Except they have a no Judi W. clause, sorry Judi.)

By some glitch in the Matrix, my work schedule is open on both friday AND Saturday so I'm fired up to be there! Hope it's as good as it sounds....

I must like to punish myself. Who else would pay $550 in order to have someone stomp you in your own car and then graphically show you how much you suck. See you there.
