Responding to Steven's question "Has SP always been like that?":

Not necessarily but it was 1986 and the car was a Lotus and I was very lucky.

That year the car was almost Stock legal. When I actually partially SP prepared it the next year (desmog, fresh engine, lowered) it was much faster but by then ASP had gotten FASTER than I would have been with a car that stayed very much streetable (it was never trailered, even to Kansas).
