Thanks to all who designed the course for this event. Even though I did not drive so good, the course was fun - I especially liked the lane change into the "Thread the Needle" . Congratulations to the big novice class you all drove well. I had a couple that I rode with that really improved their times and showed some real talent.

I think (am I really saying this :? ) I'm becoming a run all at once convert. Being old my brain doesn't forget the course after the break. I can figure out what I screwed up an immediately screw it up again  It also is less confusing. The only issue that happens frequently is that it can make it difficult to work with the novices sometimes because of the run group stagger.

Another benefit is it is much easier on the grid workers. It is less confusing and less people are trying to figure out which line to be on etc. It is difficult for the grid worker to monitor two lines with drivers parking in the wrong ones, two driver cars, and quite frankly some drivers who don't give a crap about when they are supposed to run, but just run when they want and do a "wave by" to the grid worker. So this becomes a "run all at once benefit" as this does not seem to be as big an issue as it is with the split groups.

All and all a good day. Thanks to all who put it on and I was waiting for the plane to take a run.

I had a ton of fun today and wish that I could have stayed off the cones but huge thanks to all who put the event together and designed the course.

Here is my fastest scratch time of 40.5 seconds. I clipped 2 cones in there somewhere: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slHd2F2QZg0

That was definitely a great day - thanks to everyone who made the event happen.

Not nearly as fast as Keith - but here's my fastest run -

And apologies to the course worker I scared in this run   -

What a great day! Thanks to Team Westerfield (and Les) for a really fun course. I had terrible runs in the AM heat, as witnessed by my 4 wheels off donut in the grass early on-which was actually fun, by the way, but rallied in the PM after plenty of help from Emmie and Carl, plus the perfect pep talk from Eric. Thanks Eric, I still left some out there, to be sure, but your kind words got me back on track. Oh, and there was the "right foot prayer". But that's another story.

I was thankful for split runs yesterday since I really needed to get past some AM demons. I like changing it up. I know it's sometimes going to be predicated by the number of entries, but event chair's choice seems the way to go. Just my .02 worth.

Thanks again to all.

Fun course. A real excercise in "keep it on the floor and figure out how to get it through the cones". I tried to take the lane change flat on my last run. It almost worked. Perhaps if my front right tire weren't "molting" it would have worked. Even with costing through the entire section on the borken pavement, I still managed a 46.xxx. I wonder what that time would have been (I had at least 3 cones by then, so it doesn't really matter, but I wonder).

Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen.

Was a good event. Brice nailed it...I broke too many times in places a brief lift would have sufficed and I was getting used to my new tires (which have NO cold performance).

Anyone know what happened with the eclipse that got towed away? I was working the course at the time.

Great course. Even though I couldn't keep it together for an entire run I still had a blast.

Did you downshift into 1st just before entering the c-box?

Ummm im not sure exactly what happened but we made it back to town okay. I am going to find out what was the cause and how much it will cost today. I will keep you guys updated.

The ironic thing is that my girlfriend w/ the pink and white bug was worried that something might happen to her car and i kept reassuring her that nothing would happen to it.... Then DUN DUN DUN

Did the gate immediately after the Chicago box terrorize anyone besides me all day yesterday? No matter how hard I tried to locate that gate before exiting the box, my eyes consistently locked onto the gate following the one I was looking for, causing me to completely botch the rest of each run. Had me feeling like such a noob.

Yeah in my minimal experience autocrossing, I've always been advised and coached on how to negotiate a chicago box as quickly as possible and be back on the gas at exit, but due to the next gate, it completely changed the dynamics of exiting. I honestly don't think I've been to a course where the exit of a c box did not allow for WOT to the next gate.

I think I should probably have gone down into 1st for the c box so I had enough torque to rotate a bit to get to the next gate, but I stayed in 2nd, had no boost, and no torque and couldn't be on the throttle enough at the exit to get any throttle lift over steer.
