I have an old friend of mine that contacted me about autoxing. Not bring the car to the T&T, but will be to the first event. I'm trying to figure out where this car would class.

He has a '67 XKE jag 2+2. There are some mods on the car. He's upgraded the shocks/struts and rear springs along w/ larger brakes and front sway. I was thinking STX for the car, but the statement of "except sports car based" has me wondering exactly what to do.

Advise? Where would this class?

That car would go straight to BSP. There is no where for it to play in any of the ST classes.

Agreed... seems to me the series II E-types were still sportscar based, even the 2+2 models (not the long WB series III luxo-cruisers), so it'd have to get bumped to an under-prepped BSP, no? Since the 280Z/ZX 2+2 is excluded from ST* the XKE may not be rightly placed either.... Ultimately I wouldn't have a problem with it in either class (STX or STU) personally. Nice to see some old Jags out there!

I think the Z is eligible for STR now. But the Jag is not on that list.

Thanks for the correction, James! I forgot this little nugget:

"For listings below, a sports car-based vehicle would include those that are
2+2 variants of 2-seat sports cars."

would you guys have a problem if he classed this as STR? going street prepared is extreme for the simple mods on the car.
