We will be closed from Wednesday March 10th through Monday March 15th. I will re-open on Tuesday March 16th @ 12pm Eastern Time.

Orders can be placed via the website. You should feel free to leave a phone message as well, at least until the voicemail gets maxed out!

I will do my best to address all orders and messages as quickly as possible upon my return--but I'm only one man.... Your cooperation is appreciated!

Thank you,

Sam

Well, I have to say I'm very disappointed in stranoparts right now. I ordered the D-specs last Wednesday and of this writing, my CC has not been charged and no responses to my emails asking for delivery information. Is Sam usually like this in delaying orders? I'll give him the benefit of the doubt if he was at the Dixie tour this weekend, but this has been 4 business days, and going on 5. I expected better customer service.

Like Karl said, he was absolutely at the Tour. I had him as an instructor on Friday. Really nice guy.

I've received an email and phone call from Sam since I posted. He said he was at the Dixie. I guess an automated email reply would have helped in this situation. Parts are ordered and will ship shortly.

I saw a post on Mustangforums that said stranoparts would be closed between 3/10 and 3/15.

I'd wait to contact him until after our first autocross. I'd hate for you to rush a shock install. :D

D-specs are in the house and waiting to be installed. Should have them installed by tomorrow and an alignment this coming Tuesday. A few test runs during the novice school and hopefully I'll have everything roughly dialed in for the 1st event. Time will tell if I'm ready for Art and the Westerfield's.

Aw, who am I kidding.... they're going down!!!!

Isn't it funny? Sam sold me Koni SAs, he sold you Tokico D-Specs, but for his own car, he runs "Strano Performance Parts Spec valved AST Dampers".

Says so right here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLe3m_hZ3Fk

Based on all the varying degrees of information he's given you, Michael and myself, I'm not surprised. I guess depending on where he is w/ his setup is the advice he's going to give.

Sam is in the business of selling parts. He's told Bryan and I repeatedly that the Konis are the way to go on the C6, mainly because he sells them and not the Pfadt shocks we are running. Sam is a hell of a driver, but mixing business with pleasure makes for an interesting perspective. - AB

What Aaron said but also something to consider. In 2007 he ran on the D-Specs. In 08 they switched to the Koni SAs. I am not sure when they switched to the AST's.

Is that even Sam's car? I can see the owner deciding to try ASTs and asking Sam how they should be valved.

Car owners do weird stuff. Like deciding to run a hot-air intake in a stock class at Nationals. :D

I never said it wasn't the hot ticket.

The D-specs are installed. Interesting concept this whole adjustable shock thing. I can go from Cadillac to brick in about 7 turns of the adjuster. About 1/2 way on front and rear is a nice driver car. I can tell the alignment is out though, not as sharp as before. Taking it to Marks on Tuesday.

An interesting thing happened while changing out the front struts. I used an impact gun to remove the top strut nut and I noticed the top hat started to separate. It was no effort at all to snap it apart and I'm glad I did. There's about a 3" diameter ring w/ about 50 ball bearings in the ring. Several had fallen out of their respective hole. Luckily I found them all and replaced them. The upper and lower unit simply snap together. That was a little unsettling as far as I'm concerned. I did the rest of the job w/ hand tools, such a pain.

I also replaced the rear diff fluid w/ the royal purple 70/140 gear oil. Man, that stuff smells.

As an added bonus, I also put some black vinyl on the bottom of the front bumper to look like the California special. I think it looks pretty good and it came decent enough. The nice thing is it's removable when I decide to sell the car.

Other than light weight wheels and adjustable endlinks for the front sway, I'm done w/ the car. Nothing else to do other than maintenance. Kinda sad really....
