I've updated the directions to remove the references to the other entrances, which I think are obsolete now.
hmm...just rechecked--maybe I'm looking in the wrong spot? Anyway, I'll go the GK entrance based on the references here and in Karl's thread. Thanks.
From Sanford:
Take US 1 south to Southern Pines/Aberdeen.
At the south end of Aberdeen, turn left on US 15-501, continuing through Hoke County into Scotland County.
Shortly after entering Scotland County, turn left onto SR 1400, aka Hill Creek Rd. (This is about 9.5 miles from the US 1 / US 15-501 split in Aberdeen - watch carefully or you will miss it! Hint: Look for the "Pine Lake RV Resort & Campground" sign.) Follow Hill Creek Rd. into Wagram.
In Wagram, turn left onto McKay St. and follow it to the next intersection (US 401). Go directly across 401 onto SR 1403 (Riverton Rd.). Follow Riverton Rd. until the stop sign at Airbase Rd. There will be an old store on the other side of the road.
Turn left onto Airbase Rd. and follow it to the tee intersection - also Airbase Rd.
Turn left at the tee (Airbase Rd). Note that we use two different entrances, depending on the course configuration:
The old "Burch Industries" entrance is on your right about 1/2 mile after you turned at the tee. Look for the cream-colored building.
The "Skydivers" or "Golden Knights" entrance, is another 1.5 miles down Airbase Rd. Follow Airbase Rd. past the "Custom Homes" builder on the right. Stay straight when Airbase Rd curves off to the left - the entrance to the site will be immediately to your right, on a dirt/sand road. Follow the dirt road for a short ways until you see the taxiways, from there follow signs and cones until you see the pit setup.
