Sorry for the ignorant question...based on the "new area" mentioned in Karl's thread and the two entrances mentioned in the THSCC directions, which is the preferred entrance for tomorrow?

Thanks in advance!

Because those in charge may already be in route, I'm going to say Golden Knights entrance. There's a "Y" intersection right @ the entrance. See you tomorrow.

That is correct, using the same GK entrance.

I've updated the directions to remove the references to the other entrances, which I think are obsolete now.

Thanks Carl, that's a correct assumption, the other entrances won't be used anymore.

So it would be okay to show up unregistered and leave a little early if need be? (pulling strings as a new dad to get a little seat time)

thanks,

hmm...just rechecked--maybe I'm looking in the wrong spot? Anyway, I'll go the GK entrance based on the references here and in Karl's thread. Thanks.

From Sanford:
Take US 1 south to Southern Pines/Aberdeen.
At the south end of Aberdeen, turn left on US 15-501, continuing through Hoke County into Scotland County.
Shortly after entering Scotland County, turn left onto SR 1400, aka Hill Creek Rd. (This is about 9.5 miles from the US 1 / US 15-501 split in Aberdeen - watch carefully or you will miss it! Hint: Look for the "Pine Lake RV Resort & Campground" sign.) Follow Hill Creek Rd. into Wagram.
In Wagram, turn left onto McKay St. and follow it to the next intersection (US 401). Go directly across 401 onto SR 1403 (Riverton Rd.). Follow Riverton Rd. until the stop sign at Airbase Rd. There will be an old store on the other side of the road.
Turn left onto Airbase Rd. and follow it to the tee intersection - also Airbase Rd.
Turn left at the tee (Airbase Rd). Note that we use two different entrances, depending on the course configuration:
The old "Burch Industries" entrance is on your right about 1/2 mile after you turned at the tee. Look for the cream-colored building.
The "Skydivers" or "Golden Knights" entrance, is another 1.5 miles down Airbase Rd. Follow Airbase Rd. past the "Custom Homes" builder on the right. Stay straight when Airbase Rd curves off to the left - the entrance to the site will be immediately to your right, on a dirt/sand road. Follow the dirt road for a short ways until you see the taxiways, from there follow signs and cones until you see the pit setup.

Steve,

You are driving a Subaru with 4x4-esque ground clearance. When you get to the 'tee' just go straight and off road it till you find a lot of cars....you can't miss :).

We might have to ask the VPs, but I think that means you have to sum your times then

There's a Shell station in Wagram and that's where you turn left.. Take that till you see a bunch of airplanes, that will be the airport.

Great test and tune today. Here's to hoping we get this weather ordered for every event this season.

Thanks everybody.

Good deal. Seems like everyone who needed to test setups got that accomplisned, and that everyone left happy. While I didn't drive much this weekend, I screwed around a little on Saturday while we were setting up. Yep, the car is the same as it always is. Had I brought the Hoosiers down, it would have been just my luck to have a huge spin and flat spot all four.

Oh, huge, HUGE props to Kendt Eklund for driving the bus down, and to Rob Lupella for driving it back. You guys rock!

Finally, huge props to everyone who came out to shake off the winter rust. We totally made it up as we went along, and you guys were all excellent, as always.
