I did the Subaru challenge in Dec at zMax and it seems that CCR is going to continue booking this venue. For being a 'parking lot', it is monstrous....no curb islands in the middle or anything. The light poles are really far apart too (very easy to course around them with a large safety margin). It's a big place so runs are easily 60-70+ seconds.

Anyway, just letting you know if you haven't done an autox there.

Best thing is they have oil disposal garbage cans everywhere in case you need to do an oil change at the track ;).

It's possible I'll be out there. - AB

that was fun!

Great site, its HUGE. They need to be a little more careful in the course layouts in spots, but all in all a great day. I wish I could have driven better. I had a screaming run going for my third run, went to third for a really fast part of the course, ended up shifting to 4th instead of back to second, lost it in the slalom and got all sloppy, and still ended up only a tenth faster than my actual fastest run. I'm pretty sure it would have been enough to move me up to 4th instead of 5th in ST. Not sure if there was really any way to catch Dave O, Chris Schmid in Dave's car, or David Stamford in his RS, but 4th would have been a trophy :(. It was good to get out and shake the rust off though, and I really enjoyed the site.

It was an excellent event. I wish I had driven a bit better and that my best run didn't get thrown out because I hit a damn cone and went slower on my re-run. I don't think we could have asked for better weather though. Here is a video of my fastest official scratch time and Chris' fastest scratch time.

I drove by the dragway and speedway this week for the first time. Wow - it looks like a hospital with all the glass buildings!

Was the race site the parking lot next to the dragway pit area along Speedway Blvd?

Nice, what does you 2nd gear run out at?

You should qualify that you were in 2nd gear :).

I liked the course but wasn't keen on my performance...I wanted at least one more run on that course to work out the kinks....alas.

It sounded like you were doing 65 when you hit that cone.

It was good to meet you James and I hope to see you at future events.

Yep, I'll be at most if not all of them....it's addicting. Good to meet you too.
