I actually haven't even been to this place yet, but so far as I can tell they are on the right track.

i called just now to see if they could rush order some wheel bearings for the e30. he said he could have them here today by 2:30 no problem. when i explain my situation (that i wasn't sure if it was the wheel bearing yet) he offered for one of his techs to throw it up on a lift and check it out at no charge. i have an appt for tomorrow at noon. he's also going to order the bearings anyway just in case i need them.

i don't know about you guys, but i don't know anywhere that will do a diagnostic check for free anymore or special order parts without a confirmation that you'll buy'm.

i'll post tomorrow and let you know how the visit went.

They are dope, they(Henry specifically) did a whole bunch of work on my father's M Roadster. Quite happy with the results!

Cool call Chris!

One of the owners is on nceuro.org and the guys on there had nothing but nice things to say about the shop.

Thumbsup for a modern website too!

Jordan is also one of the few mechanics in the area with an Autologic which can program all the silly BMW special features (driveaway locking, DRLs, etc). Pretty good guys. Here's where I gave them props for what they did for me:

+ 1 on MPower! Jordan's got one of the best places that I know of (haven't been to his new shop, but I understand that they moved bigger place across the street a few months back). They’ve always been helpful with getting parts, offering suggestions, or squeezing us in.

update

so far, this place by far out classes any other automotive shop i've been to. they are all very professional. their facilities are pretty cool as well...i especially like the free candy and drinks while you place xbox or playstation and wait for your car.

so i took it to them yesterday afternoon. they test drove it, put it up on the rack and did determine it was a wheel bearing. they were full yesterday but were able to fit me in today. i got TWO calls from their service writer to give me statuses. the car is done, on time, and for the exact dollar amount they quoted.

all that is left is to pick up the car and hopefully drive it home without that nagging "whirrrrring" sound.
