Does anyone have a recommendation for a shop to get this work done on a jeep cherokee? I would prefer someplace in the cary, apex area if possible.

Thanks!

Ray Weatherspoon Automotive on Trinity Rd. does really good work on domestics. I have recommended quite a few folks to him and never had a complaint. You might want to check Marshal Lewis at Modern Service in Downtown Cary too.

I got mine worked on at Frantz (sp?) Automotive near downtown Cary. They did a great job.

What will you be pulling with your Cherokee? And how often? I towed with mine (93 4.0L I6) for about 2 months, then realized I really would be better off with a "real" truck for as often as I was towing.

Good Luck.

Not to undermind your experience at Frantz, but Lisa Frantz used to be married to Del Richards...which is what Frantz Automotive used to be called. My Father used to sell snap-on tools and I remember many a horor story coming from del richards. If I were in Cary looking for good tranny work I would stick to the ones stephen mentioned above.

I'm speaking only from my own experience, Frantz did several things on my Jeep and I didn't have any issues with any work done, or the customer service (and being a woman that knows something about cars, this is a biggie for me). Last I checked with the guy that bought my Jeep in October 2002, he hasn't had any problems with it, which I take to mean that all repairs they did were top notch. *shrug* Maybe I'm the lucky 1 person who had a good job done on their 4x4, but I find that hard to believe. IIRC, they were even recommended to me by someone in the club when I asked for a shop near Cary that knew 4x4s. Anyway, if I still lived in the area, I'd take my current truck there in a heartbeat. But that's just me. :) Robert - Good luck.

Has anyone had any experience with Cricket in Cary? I've taken my old Wrangler there a few times in the past and they seemed to do good work on it. I will probably go there again unless anyone has a bad horror story

I wont be towing that often or that much weight when I do with the Cherokee so I am not concerned about how well or not well as the case may be it tows stuff.

Thanks for all the info so far, very appreciated!
