Karl, are you talking about the place outside of Chapel Hill on Old Greensboro Road? There's an "Elite" out there, too, anyway. I used that place once when a guy hit me in the back of my Forerunner. Looked fine when I got it, but the paint they did started peeling off about two years later. I had sold it to my parents who live in Monroe and instead of trying to take it back over there they got a family friend who has a shop basically right in their front yard to fix it.
From what I understand, the guy who owns the Elite I'm talking about used to have a tremendous reputation for restoration and the like, but he's since gone all insurance jobs and won't touch anything custom any more. I also don't think he does any of the work himself...the shop used to be behind the house and they've since torn down the house and created a much larger body shop.

That's the place Donnie. I don't remember the road names, but I do remember driving by University Lake on the way out there. The guy's name is Kevin. He's definitely still a car guy - completely went over an old Buick Grand National as last I spoke with him. It looked stunning (or, about as stunning as a late 1980s Buick is going to get).
I took my Suburban there when I got t-boned. Last I saw that truck - and let me tell you I did a number on that thing - it still looked great. It was not a small job, and involved welding in the B-pillar area from a donor Suburban. I'm sure someone with a better trained eye than mine could spot the damage, but I couldn't. It drove just like it did before it got hit too.
When did you have the 4-runner in? I think it was probably around 2002 or so when I took the Suburban over there.
