Any local dealers that carry BSR brake ducts?

I'd be interested if you find some of any brand that is 3" or 4" and good quality.

I tried some that looked decent. But the wires ripped through the material and tore them up. They weren't as rugged as I thought they would be. I've been looking at aircraft grade re-enforced silicone hoses. But they aren't cheap...

Does anyone know a local source for any real brake duct material? Preferably like Sceet tubing in 3". I have a need for about 3ft of it asap.

Graham,

The CDOC store at VIR? Autosport Gallery? There's bound to be a roundy-roundy race supply shop around here somewhere.

I found that to secure ducting, it helped to poke little holes in it on either side of the wire, and loop a tie-wrap through them and around the reinforcing wire to make a 1/4" internal diameter attachment loop. Then I tie wrapped that loop to the sway bar or other attachment point. I had to test-fit the duct to make sure I was lining up the attachment loops with the attachment point.

Thanks Art. I'll give Tom at AG a call.

The stuff I have came with my duct extensions. It lasted a season. Did just what you are saying. It's mounted down the side of the upper A-arm with tie-wraps. After a while the constant rubbing and bending just pokes the wire through the material.

I'm going to order some Sceet used in aircraft. That hose is some type of high temp silicone material that is very flexible and doesn't tear so easy. That and some spindle ducts so the hose hits exactly where it is supposed to regardless of suspension compression or wheel movement.

I ordered a set directly from BSR, based out of Charlotte. They carry just about anything you would need. Their online catalog is just the tip of the iceberg.

I ended up ordering online too. I got the Aeroduct Sceet that tends to last longer than the cheap stuff. Scat would also work.

Aircraft Spruce sells all types of ducting material.
