Greetings:

Brad Mackey has just closed a major sponsor deal with
the US Distributer for Ferodo Racking Brake Pads
Essex Parts Services http://www.essexparts.com

Club Members will receive jobber discounts, initially on
Ferodo Brake Pads, later expanded to other products.

THSCC now has a high performance brake pad supplier for
ALL OF OUR CLUBS PROGRAMS:
- AUTOX
- HPDE
- TIME TRIAL
- RALLY CROSS
as well as High Performance street and OEM replacement

Over the next several days I will be working with Ryan Holton,
Bowie, and our TZC counterparts puting in place what is necessary
so that we can start placing orders and receiving our substantial
club discount on brakes.

Expect more detailed announcements on this in the very near future.
IF you need brakes for this season-please hold out a few days before
placing your order.

See Ya On Track!

Mark V

Thanks,

So those of us that won Carbotech gift certificates at the Christmas party now have an alternative?

I'm not all that familiar with Ferodos, except that they have been around longer than just about anyone in the brake business.

Does anyone have any experiences to share? How does their line-up compare to Hawk or Carbotech?

At the urging of Sam Strano, I switched from Hawk Blues to the Ferodo DS2500 (still run the HPS on the rear). I can not say enough about the overall improvement.

The DS2500 has a nice linear feel, whereas the Hawks have an initial bite. Anyone driving a non-abs, live rear axle car knows initial bite scares the hell out of you.

In December I put the Hawks back on the front for the PCA full course event. I ran one session and switched right back to the well worn Ferodos. With the Hawks, three times the front locked up at the top of RollerCoaster and by the grace of god, I did not go off. With the Ferodos, carrying as much or more speed, no wheel lock.

The dust is no different than the Hawks. The Ferodos are suppose to last longer, but I think they are about the same. Both the Blues and the DS2500 treat the rotors the same.

Brake pads are like women, we all have our own preference. But pads are cheaper to experiment with :-)

I just got our membership list from Mary E and merged it with
the one from TZC and will sent it to Ferodo tonight with their
invoice. I expect they will be ready to start taking orders in
a few days or as log as it takes to input the names in their
database.

I have 175 Catalogs and decals comming-but there is a lot of
info on various Ferodo's resellers web sites with a description of
their compounds. Friction coefficiants on the race pads are way
up there-they also have a race cerametic and a street compound.

All of the stuff we publish has to be approved by the sponsor before
we put it up-so be patient. ITs a done deal.

We are trying to work out some supply & shipping issues so
if you have any issues of ordering pads and not being in stock
or able to ship-please let me or Brad Mackey know.

Thanks
Mark V
