I heard they had a blow up with management or the like and have all gone to a new shop somewhere in N Raleigh. Does anyone know the name of the shop?

Also does anyone know if T-Hoff currently has competent machinists?

Thanks,
--Kevin H.

That is a good question. Years ago I had Mickey at T-Hoff bore my Kz1000 out and they did a good job. But the last time I used them it took the guy about an hour to press the right motor mount. i had figured the VW guys would be quicker. I ended up taking my 1.8 head to Ashworth in Fuquay. They did a great job on a 302 Ford build(This was a long time ago, but the same guy, Steve, fronts the shop)

I've heard all sorts of *rumors* in the past several years about T-Hoff and their machine shop- but don't know any hard facts about it.

I have been using Cylinder Head Specialties (CHS) in Wake Forest, right off the US1 service road (Star Rd?) on the right before you get to the Wakefield/US1 Business intersection. They're tucked in behind a used car dealer- I think it's called Hollingsworth. George and the guys there do a great job at a great price. They do all sorts of race motors so they won't look at you funny if you ask about something that's not stock. They also do full engines, not just cylinder heads as their name implies. Highly recommended.

Bret.

I was talking to one of thier counter guys(who was in my shop looking around) and he said they had hired three of the old machine shop guys back.
