Who do you MINI owners use for service? A friend of mine has one and does not want to drive to Winston for service.

For a MINI mechanic I suggest on of the following:

a) Robert Plank
b) Adam Menges
c) PJ Aspesi
d) Jim Feinberg

Not sure where you friend is located, but there is Hendrick MINI in Charlotte.
Other than that there is a guy in Thomasville @ http://grassrootsgarage.com/
He's a former MINI Tech who opened his own shop. I have not personally used him, but several members of my MINI club have, and have been really happy with the work.

Raleigh. It is actually a friends mom who has been taking her car to
Winston Salem for Oil Changes and when the battery left her stranded had it towed there because it has to be serviced by the dealer

If it is still under warranty then off to Winston/Salem it goes. You can't even use the local BMW dealer. Must go to the Mini dealer. So far Kyle's new Mini is working great so he hasn't had to deal with this. When he was in Savannah he had to take it to the Charleston, SC dealer for a couple of things.

Keith (posting above) & Chris Suich would probably know better than anyone else who reads these forums if there might be a good MINI mechanic around these parts. If they don't know anybody, there's probably nobody around here I'd go to. I've just been going to WS, myself, since ours is still under warranty. Agreed that it's a PITA! :?
