Finding metric bolts locally can be a pain. Certainly the mainstream places like HD and Lowe's don't stock much, especially if you want something better than a Grade 8.

I found this place online:

http://www.boltdepot.com/

Lots of helpful information, outstanding selection, very good pricing.

Placed an order Monday AM, this is what happened:

- immediate confirmation via email.
- received "shipped" email Monday afternoon with UPS tracking number.
- order arrived Wednesday.
- everything ordered was shipped, all items sorted by part number and packed in ziploc'd, labeled bags.

Shipping and handling charges are the actual UPS charges plus $1.50 - so you don't really need a large order to have this make sense. No sales tax to NC.

Wilders in raleigh carries a huge supply of metric hardware on hand. Have never gone in there and not gotten what I needed

The only bolt that I have asked Wilders about and stumped them was a M7x1.0 10,9 bolt that's in the Contour. Had to go to the dealership for that one.

(boltdepot also doesn't carry it FWIW)

Also note that McMaster Carr has a very useful website, and very often my UPS Ground orders show up the next day (they're in Atlanta). I don't think I've ever waited more than two days.

X2 on McMaster. They are the bomb. Shipping is the same even here in BFE.

McMaster is very good, but also a bit pricey.
